I can't believe it's that time again, it's time to share with you my top 10 dramas released in 2021, I've watched less than 20 dramas this year but I still wanted to pick my top 10 out of those dramas. There's still lots of dramas released this year that I want to watch and finish watching.
But for now here is My Top 10 Dramas of 2021!

I've made it no secret about how Xing Fei is my favourite Chinese actress, I loved the onscreen chemistry with Xing Fei and Tang Xiao Tian. The cast was amazing and I loved the story of the main and 2nd leads.

NO.9

Coming in at No.9 we have the Korean drama A Love So Beautiful, starring Kim Yohan as Cha Heon, So Joo Yeon as Shin Sol-i, Yeo Hoe Hyun as Woo Dae Sung, Jo Hye Joo as Kang Ha Yeong and Jeong Jin Hwan as Jeong Jin Hwan.
A Love So Beautiful is a 2020/2021 South Korean coming-of-age drama written by Choi Yoo Jung and Jang Yoo Yeon, and directed by Seo Min Jung.
For his first drama I think Kim Yohan did an amazing job, I'm definitely keeping my eyes open for all his acting roles. The whole cast was amazing and they looked liked they all had amazing chemistry on set together. The plot was really cute and fun, it's definitely a series I could watch all over again.

NO.8

Coming in at No.8 is the Korean drama Hellbound, starring Yoo Ah In as Jeong Jon Soo, Kim Hyun Joo as Min Hye Jin, Park Jeong Min as Bae Youngjae, Won Jin Ah as Song So Hyun and Yang Ik June as Jin Kyeong Hoon.
Hellbound is a dark fantasy drama written and directed by Yeon Sang Ho and based on his own webtoon of the same name.
I won't go into too much detail as I haven't blogged about this drama yet, but for me, Hellbound was all sorts of new for me when it comes to this type of drama. The cast was amazing and it definitely played with all your emotions throughout the story, I'm curious to see what happens in season 2 and how the story continues to unfold.

NO.7

Coming in at No.7 is the Korean drama Monthly Magazine Home starring Kim Ji Seok as Yu Ja Seong and Jung So Min as Na Young Won.
Monthly Magazine Home is a Romance drama written by Myeong Soo Hyeon and directed by Lee Chang Min.
The main reason I love this drama is how simple it is, I don't think it's your typical romance drama and I absolutely loved Kim Ji Seok as Kim Ja Seong, I spent a lot of time laughing because of how clueless his character was when it came to relationships. The cast were definitely amazing, it had a lot of humour, I really enjoyed it.

NO.6

Coming in at No.6 we have the Korean drama Imitation, starring Jung Ji So as Lee Ma Ha, Lee Jun Young as Kwon Ryok, Park Jiyeon as La Ri Ma and Jeong Yunho as Lee Yu Jin.
Imitation is an Idol drama written Choi Sun Young and Kim Min Jung, and directed by Han Hyun Hee, based on the webtoon of the same name by Park Kyung Ran.
The main thing I loved about this drama is how it brought to life the hardships that idol trainees have to face, it really dug into the dark side of K-pop and how idols are unable to have a normal private life. I love that even though we got to see trainees debut, it wanted to reminded the viewers that not all trainees succeed and how it can have such sad a drastic conclusions for some.

So I Married the Anti-Fan is a 2021, South Korean romantic comedy drama series, written by Kim Eun Jung and Nam Ji Yeon, and directed by Kang Cheol Woo.
I absolutely loved this drama, I loved the growth between the male and female lead, you really got to see character development with the male and female lead as well as the 2nd male and female lead. I'd happily watch it again as for me it's not really a drama I think I would get bored of.

NO.4

A Man Who Defies The World Of BL is a 2021, Japanese Boys Love romance fantasy drama, written by Izumi Kawasaki and directed by Koichiro Miki. The series is adapted from the manga of the same name, written by Konkichi.
This drama was hilarious, all the cast were spot on and I don't think I ever stopped laughing throughout the short series. I hope we get a 2nd season and see how Mob's story develops as well as everyone around him.

Miss Crow With Mr. Lizard is a  romantic comedy drama series written by Yang Ni Kou and Liu Chang, and directed by Qiang Wu.
Allen Ren and Fei Xing are definitely my favourite leads from a drama in 2021, I loved their chemistry, this drama also sealed the reason why I'm such a big fan of Fei Xing. I loved the story and the casting for this drama, I can only hope we could get a 2nd season to see what happens with Jiang Zhao Yan and Gu Chuan. I may even start watching this show again because I miss the cast.

The soundtrack for this little series is amazing, so much so I often find myself with the songs stuck in my head and singing along.
Kang In Soo - Wish For You Acoustic

Lee Sang - Closer to You

Lee Sang - Perfect Day

Runy - Be My Love

Kang In Soo & Lee Sang - Wish For You

A free spirited singer whose love of music has him performing on the streets, Kang In Soo's life resolves completely around music. Supported by his friends, In Soo hopes to someday turn his love of music into a full-time career, but doing so isn't easy. Refusing to give up on his dreams, In Soo continues busking, day in and day out, while his best friend, Choi Min Sung, records his performances and uploads them on YouTube. Little does either of them know that In Soo's performances have caught the attention of someone who could change the young musician's life.
A keyboardist working at a major record company, Yoon Sang Yi is always on the lookout for new talent. After stumbling upon In Soo's videos Sang Yi has become one of the singers biggest fans. Convinced In Soo could make it big, he recommends the young artist join his company's rookie discovery project. Seeing this opportunity in this invitation, In Soo accepts the offer and and soon moves into the company residence with Sang Yi.
As the two live and work together, their relationship grows and slowly, new feelings begin to blossom. Unfortunately, as their feelings grow, so do the obstacles that stand in their way.

While this drama was originally released last year, I'm counting it in my dramas of 2021, with the episode being put together and made into a film and released this year. I'm a sucker for BL dramas, I'm not ashamed to say they're my guilty pleasure, whether it be a drama, anime, manga or webtoon.
I originally came across Wish You on my Netflix, it was showing as a title that would be coming soon so I hit the remind me button, it wasn't until I was having a nosey on Viki that I came across a drama of the same name so checked it out and realised it was the same one, so decided to give it a binge watch. Like most Asian BL dramas, especially Korean, it was a short and sweet series and I absolutely adored it, if I'm being completely honest I think it's one of my favourite BL dramas to be released.
I loved the cast, the plot and the script, I thought it was well written my only criticism is the fact that, I think it would have worked so much better as a longer series, allowing the viewers to be able to get more in depth back stories for the characters and to see how everything developed more naturally rather than rushed. While I do think it was slightly rushed, the plot and episodes seemed to run smoothly, meaning you're never left confused about what's happening.
Like Sang Yi, I couldn't help falling in love with In Soo, Kang In Soo has a smile that just melts everything away, I was actually unfamiliar with his as an idol, even though I had heard of his group before. I can't help but feel that how friendly and caring the character In Soo is that Kang In Soo is exactly the same in real life, I did at times wonder if In Soo was trying to come to terms with how his feelings were changing towards Sang Yi, this is one of the things I think if the episodes and series were longer, we could have delved more into as a story.
I thought Lee Sang brought a naivety to his role as Sang Yi, I can feel that like with Kang In Soo, that Lee Sang is also like his character, minus the naivety, which is why I think he did amazing bringing that to the screen, he brought be a fan of an artist to the screen with ease and I definitely got from the start that he harboured strong feelings and emotions towards In Soo.
I loved Baek Seo Bin as In Soo's friend Choi Min Seong, even though he works, he's willing to give up his spare time to support his friend and help him achieve his dreams. You can tell they have a close friendship and rely on one another, and he's doesn't seemed phased when he sees In Soo and Yang Si getting closer and even supports them when they become even closer.
I couldn't help smiling and giggling at Su Bin as Lee Yoo Jin as she's not only a work colleague of Yang Si's you can tell they're close friends too, she often jokes with Sang Yi by flirting with him as she knows it catches him off guard and knows he's too nice and polite to try and turn her down. She's very professional when it comes to her work and will happily help Sang Yi to get ahead too, as she knows and believes he's capable of doing the job.

I could watch the drama and film all day, everyday, I enjoy watching it so much. I think it all fits perfectly together and it doesn't feel like you've been watching it long. It's well written and well acted to the point you can't help but love all the characters. I'd love to see another short series or film to see how things have changed since we last saw them.
I'd highly recommend this series, even as a film the episodes blend together really well, it never fails to put a smile on my face.
