Today's song was used in my countdown 8 years ago, and it's only the second time it's appeared in my countdown. It's a classic song that has stood the test of time and is played every year.
It's a song that everyone knows and as soon as you hear it, you know it's Christmas.
December 22nd: I've miss a few days as I've been so busy with work and preparing for Christmas as well as constantly listening to SHINee and pretty much not being in the mood to feel very festive knowing that 4 guys that I admire are hurting right now. Yesterday was their final goodbyes to JongHyun and seeing them carrying JongHyun's coffin was heartbreaking, especially knowing that that was the last time they would be 5. Seeing Onew sadly confirmed the worry I had for him since the news was broken about JongHyun, he looked unrecognisable and there was no life or soul in his eyes. I just hope Key, Minho and Taemin will be his strength right now, it was in that moment I wish I was there to grab him, give him a tight hug and remind him that we will get through this and even though JongHyun maybe gone in body, he was still inside every one of us and that he won't ever be forgotten. Today's song is SHINee's rendition of Wham's Last Christmas.
I can't believe we're already in December, this year I have had highs and lows but I've tried to continue to keep my spirits up and it's now time to start a new Christmas countdown. Like many one of my favourite things about Christmas, is all the Christmas songs, whether you love or hate a certain song it still helps you to get into the festive spirit.
I enjoyed doing an advent calendar last year that was all Christmas and festive style songs that I knew I would do it again this year, and this may not surprise you but I have added both old, new, Korean and English songs onto this countdown, so I hope you find a track you really like through my countdown.
December 1st:
You can't deny whether you hate or love this song, when you think Christmas songs Wham's Last Christmas pops into your head as one of the classics, while I do love and enjoy the original track from Wham! I love that one of my favourite K-pop groups did a cover of it and in English when they sung it for their company's Winter Album a few years ago.
This is one of those songs you hear and think it's Christmas, I always find myself singing along to this one at work and until a few months ago would only ever hear this song when out shopping in the Christmas season or at work at the Christmas season, altogether now: 'Last Christmas I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away'

To say Shinee are not fluent in English I think they did amazing in this song, Key on the other hand is better than his members in English and often posts on his Instagram in English.
