HIStory 1: Stay Away From Me is a 2017, Taiwanese BL drama and the 2nd instalment in both the History 1 series and the HIStory series as a whole.
HIStory 1: Stay Away From Me was directed by Ishtar Tsai.
Stay Away From Me has 4 episodes and aired from the 21st of February, concluding on the 24th of February 2017.

When their parents get married and leave for a long honeymoon, superstar Cheng Ching moves in with his new stepbrother Feng He.
With Cheng Ching on the brink of falling out of college, their parents entrust Feng He to tutor him.
Meng Meng, Feng He's fujoshi best friend, starts dreaming of the perfect BL fanfic and tries to push the two together, but will Feng He be able to stay away from his brother?

I was a little unsure with this series, and it took me a little longer to like the characters and plot, the cast on the other hand I fell in love with straight away. This series seems to focus on your typical don't get along at first, but the more they spend together, the more their opinions of one another and feelings for one another changes. Even though this is a common plot for most dramas, the cast did an amazing job bringing it to the screen.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why I recognised Duke Wu and it's because I'd watched him in the Taiwanese drama Miss in Kiss, so I thought it was nice to be able to see him in a completely different role and especially in a BL drama. It seems that Cheng Ching is your "typical" arrogant celebrity that puts on a false persona when in front of fans and doesn't really seem to care whether he fails college or not, until he spends more time with his stepbrother and sees the hard work he puts in himself, making him wanting to better himself in his private life as well as his public image. Cheng Ching seems to accept his feelings straight away and it shows that he actually wears his heart on his sleeve when Feng He seems to reject him.
Edison Song did a great job as Feng He, you can feel his annoyance with having to be responsible for someone else as well as someone who doesn't seem interested. The more the spend time together the more you see Feng He warm to him, you can tell he struggles with the fact that he's having romantic feelings towards his stepbrother and is often seen reminding both himself and Cheng Ching that they are brothers and their parents are married. Feng He seems to be really naive at times, but still takes things head on.
I applaud Chiao Man Ting as Meng Meng, she portrays practically every female BL fan perfectly, the only thing I didn't agree with was when she wrote a love letter to Cheng Ching on Feng He's behalf, I'm all for friends trying to help their friends accept and act on their feelings but not to the point that it makes them uncomfortable and not to the point of hurting others in the process.

Like HIStory 1: My hero, HIStoy 1: Stay Away From Me is a short and sweet series, that gives us a new story and new characters, that go through their own inner battles about their feelings. While it's not my favourite from the HIStory 1 series, I'd still recommend it as the cast did an amazing job.

Would it be normal if I didn't fall in love with some of the songs from the drama's soundtrack and I fell in love with the tracks more knowing the male lead had written and composed some of the songs himself.

After an earthquake destroyed Xiang Qin's house, sh and her father move in with the family of her father's college buddy, uncle Ah Li. To her surprise, the kind and amicable aunt and uncle are the parents of her cold and distant schoolmate Jiang Zhi Shu, a genius with an IQ of 200 whom not too long ago rejected her endless crush on him.
Will the close proximity giver her a second chance to win Zhi Shu's heart? Or, will her love for him end under his cold words? What happens when there is competition for his heart?

As you can see from earlier in my post, I have watched the Korean version Playful Kiss and the Japanese version Mischievous Kiss, and I have to say that Miss in Kiss is my favourite take on the drama. I loved the casting choices, I loved the setting and I loved the script.
Dino Lee is my favourite male lead out of all the adaptations of the manga, he seemed to bring something to the role that none of the others did. While both Kim Hyun Joong and Yuki Furukawa played their roles as guys who had no emotions and were cold and expressionless till they admit how they feel, Dino Lee played his role more with a little confusion on how to deal with how he was feeling towards Xiang Yue Qin, meaning that even though he has a cold exterior you couldn't help but warm to him. I loved that in this adaptation we got to see him smile a lot more, which you can't deny that Dino Lee's smile just melts you and makes you love not only him as an actor but also the role he's playing.
Like with Dino Lee, I have to say Esther Wu is also my favourite of all the female leads, while I find the character annoying and frustrating at times for how she allows Zhi Shu to treat her, I can't help but love her portrayal of Yue Qin. Plus the chemistry between the two of them was just amazing, making their relationship on screen more believable.
I loved Gong Yi Teng as Jin Zhi Zhu, in the Korean and Japanese adaptations I have watched, they had his character be more of the comedic relief, but I liked that while he did add comedy in this adaptation, there was a more serious and emotional value to his character.
I thought Wei Lun Xi as Wu Zi Yu, I think she was perfect in her role and I loved watching her relationship with Yue Qin blossom into friendship, I thought she was also perfect at being the female version of Zhi Shu when it came to brains but I also loved that she was more upfront with her feelings and desires unlike Zhi Shu.
On a whole I think the cast bounced off one another and I thought they really worked well together, I'd happily watch another drama with this casting as well as watching them all in different roles and as different character.
If I had to recommend one of the adaptations for you to watch then I would highly recommend Miss in Kiss, this cast is the one I enjoyed watching the most, and I'd happily sit and watch it again.

Have you watched Miss in Kiss?
Have you watched any of the other adaptations of Itazura na Kiss?
Were you a fan of the cast?
Would you watch it again or recommend it to others?
