I we really surprised that there are songs that I love in this drama's soundtrack?
Johnny - I'll Be There

Newkidd - I'll Be There

Son Woo Hyun - To My Star

Actor Kang Seo Joon was once one of South Korea's biggest and most popular stars, bus his career is now in decline.
But despite his fall in popularity, he believes he has had a change of fortune when he meets and falls for a dashing young chef named Han Ji Woo. Despite having wildly different personalities, the two begin on a relationship.
But their love comes under threat when the more conservative Han Ji Woo and the free-spirited Kang Seo Joon realize that their outlook on life, love, and everything else appears irrevocably different.

I've said it quite a few times, but I just love BL drama's and To My Star is no different. Like many other Korean BL drama's To My Star is short and sweet, I feel like this drama could have been a lot longer and more of the storyline explored.
I think the cast were amazing and added to all of the emotions we got to see and feel from the drama, for me it's a typical drama that has the usual guarded character as well as a character that is open and upfront with everything, and even helps the other lower his guard.
I thought Son Woo Hyun was perfect as Kang Seo Joon, he seems very arrogant, but he just knows what he wants and is willing to work for it, he's very open with his feelings and wears his heart on his sleeve, no matter if his affection is towards another man. We also learn that even though he is being seen as the bad guy he is willing for his popularity to take a knock to protect others from harm, and we get an explanation as to why he seems to react in a bad way to loud bangs.
I loved Kim Kang Min as Han Ji Woo, he seems to be very guarded and likes to be a loner so he doesn't get hurt or hurt others. He seems to struggle with the fact he seems to be attracted to another man, which I think shows that for him, this is all new. I think he also seems to act on impulse and reacts in a way that even though he's the one to get hurt, he'll protect those around him that he loves and cares for.
I think Kong Jae Hyun as Kim Hyung Ki is open to interpretation, when it comes to his character, is he a jealous friend that sees Kang Seo Joon, leading his best friend Ji Woo astray, or is there more to his feelings that leads him to betray Ji Woo, in the hopes that he'll see his actions were to protect him.
It was nice to see Jeon Jae Young as Kim Pil Hyun, the CEO of Seo Joon's company be more like a friend, instead of the usual power hungry and money loving CEO's that will do everything and anything to make money, you can see his friendship comes first and will always do his best to protect Seo Joon.
I think Kim Jin Kwon was perfect as Baek Ho Min, for me he added a lot of comedy to the series, and often had me laughing, especially when he was drunk. Like the CEO, he cares for both Seo Joon ad Pil Hyun as they are his friends.
I liked that as a reporter, Han Ji Won as Lee Yoon Seul, wanted to truth to come out for Seo Joon, and wanted him to face his insecurities head on. There seemed to be a hint that both herself and Pil Hyun were attracted to one another, but the series was complete before we could even explore that relationship.

I think whether you're a lover for BL dramas or not, To My Star is a cute little series that dips it's toes into Korea's entertainment industry for people that have to hide their sexuality from the public eye.
I really recommend this series, I just wish there was more to explore with it.

Where You Eyes Linger Trailer

Like many drama's I've seen this has an OST that takes me right back into the series.
THE MAN BLK - YOU

Keum Jo - Light

RUNY - Looking At You (널보면)

Heo Jung - See U

Han Tae Joo is an 18-year-old high school student and is the sole heir of the TB Group - a family-run business conglomerate.
His strict parents keep him under surveillance 24 hours a day, and he feels both bored and oppressed by their reluctance to let him enjoy s little freedom.
His closest friend is also his unofficial bodyguard - another 18-year-old male student named Gang Gook, Gang Gook is something of a tough guy, with a powerful physique and a no-nonsense attitude.
But as the two young men grow older, they come to wonder if there is perhaps another dimension to their friendship.
When an outgoing female student named Hye Mi is transferred to their high school, she inadvertently drives up the romantic tension between the two childhood friends by going on a date with Gang Gook - irking Han Tae Joo, and stirring up long-suppressed emotions.
Will they act on their desires, or will Han Tae Joo and Gang Gook's friendship remain platonic?

I think I saw a little snippet of this drama on Viki's facebook page and with my guilty pleasure being Boys Love aka BL, I knew I had to give it a watch. This is a really short and sweet drama, with the episodes being between 10 and 15 minutes long. I'd love to see a 2nd season for this drama to see how things are progressing for all the characters. The cast did an amazing job, they kept all matters serious, while adding snippets of comedy to keep it light and at times heart warming. Behind the scenes, I think they did amazing with the casting, as well as the script and directing, not once were I left confused or uncomfortable, I really applaud everyone involved.
I want to applaud Han Gi Chan, he's a rookie in the entertainment industry and for me, for him to take on a main role in a BL drama, is very brave, as many Asian countries, including South Korea still seem to be against same sex relationships. He was amazing in his role, I honestly wouldn't think that this was his first role, I fell in love with him and his character, he really brought a cuteness to the series, while his character seems to know what he's talking about he still has an air of naivety, and innocence about him. There were times I felt he knew about Gang Gook's feelings for him and played upon them, but I also think he believes he was just having fun with his friend and was confused by his own feelings - were they feelings of love for a friend or more.
It wasn't till I concluded the drama that I realised I'd watched Jang Eui Soo before in He Is Psychometric, his character in Where Your Eyes Linger is completely different, Gang Gook seems to be more reserved and guarded. From the first episode I got the feeling that he had been in love and had feelings for Han Tae Joo for a long time and was trying to hide it. I often felt sorry for him as his feelings were often played with, by the person he cherishes most.
I think Choi Kyu Ri often added to the comedy as Choi Hye Mi, at times I think she knew how the two friends felt about one another, and while she genuinely liked Gang Gook, I think she also tried to date him to test Han Tae Joo.
I was half and half with Jeon Jae Young's character Kim Pil Hyun, just because, he only seemed to want to be friends with them all for it to gain something for him. I don't think it's till the end that his views on his friendships change, which shows growth for his character.
Lastly I want to mention Jung Seo In that played Hye Mi's mother, I can't help but think she's there to represent all the viewers that are BL fans, she made me laugh and smile so many times.

If you're a BL or romance drama fan, then I really recommend this drama, it won't take much time out of your day or even evening. It's a well written drama with amazing cast, telling the story of how things can change for childhood friends.
