I have Siwon's version of the album, and I love the little look back in the photobook of the career.
The album itself is really good, I actually forgot how good this album is. Each track really showcases Super Junior.

I absolutely adore the melody for This Is Love. This is definitely one of my favourite Super Junior tracks. I love how catchy the chorus is, and even if I've not listened to a while, the song comes flowing back like it was yesterday.
This Is Love

As soon as the melody started for Hit Me Up the song came flooding back to me. I love how different this song sounds and how it really suits Super Junior as a whole.
Hit Me Up

I love how Mamacita (아야야) mixes up the sound, it starts off sounding like it's from an era like the 30's and changes up to a more modern sound. For me this is still such an iconic Super Junior title track as it signalled the return of both Heechul and Leeteuk after their military service.
Mamacita (아야야)

I love the melody for 춤을 춘다 (Midnight Blues), it's such a stunning mid-tempo ballad. I love their voices in this song too. Super Junior are a group of different unique vocalists that blend together perfectly.
춤을 춘다 (Midnight Blues)

I remember I was in love with Don't Leave Me from the very first listen. This song is stunning, especially the chorus. It's scary to think that I've been in love with this song for 10 years.
Don't Leave Me

As expected from Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung 중 (...ing) is a stunning ballad. The melody is stunning and their vocals are perfection.
중 (...ing)

I absolutely love 백일몽 (Evanesce), this song is stunning. I've been in love with this song since it's release. The melody along with the vocals are just stunning and I think they all get their chance to show that they're all amazing vocalists. It's songs like this one that make me miss Sungmin and Kangin's vocals in their songs.
백일몽 (Evanesce)

The main part of 사랑이 멎지 않게 (Raining Spell For Love) that always sticks in my mind is the chorus, I love it. I also love the changes between vocals and raps.
사랑이 멎지 않게 (Raining Spell For Love)

From the first listen of this album 10 years ago Shirt stood and and just from seeing the tracks name brings it all back. It's still as catchy as I remember it.
Shirt

I love how upbeat and catchy Let's Dance is. It's a song that makes me want to dance.
Let's Dance

Too Many Beautiful Girls is another song that I remember straight from the track name. It gives me late 90's early 00's boyband vibes. It also gives me One Direction vibes with the melody. It's just a fun and upbeat track.
Too Many Beautiful Girls
Hyukshi

As soon as 환절기 (Mid-season) started it took me back to the first time listening to this album. I love the melody.
환절기 (Mid-season)
Hyukshi

Islands is stunning song to close the album with. This is a stunning ballad that allows the members to show how amazing they all are vocally. Listening to this song brings it all back to me, it's like I still listen to this song and album everyday.
Islands

I may not listen to Super Junior as much as I used to, but whenever I listen to their albums like this one, it takes me back and makes me feel like I still listen to them everyday. It's sad to think that this album was Sungmin's last with the group since getting married and going on hiatus from the group, making it 10 years since we've seen him perform with the group. Kangin seems to be doing a lot better since going on hiatus from the group since his 2nd DUI as well as his assault scandal/charge. I think it really shows that given the time idols can change the way they act. It seemed to be a dark period in his life and it looks like he could be making a return to the music scene. I'm all for allowing idols to try again to a certain extent, especially if they are willing to see what they have done wrong, make amends and change for the better, which to me seems he has done.
I love that the group still continue to make and release albums, and I don't think they'll be stopping any time soon.

Super Junior - Twins

Hello

(Ni Hao)

I'm back with another Super Junior post, but this time we're heading back in time to 2005 and their debut full length album Twins.

In early 2005, Lee Soo-Man announced that he had been preparing for an all-boy project group of twelve members to debut at the end of the year. He called this singing group to be "the gateway to stardom of Asia", as most of the members were chosen for their experiences as actors, MC's, models and radio hosts prior to debut. Inspired by the rotational concept of Japan's girl group Morning Musume, Lee Soo-Man said that his new group would also experience line-up changes, with new members replacing selected members every year to keep the group constantly young and all-rounded.
For a while they were rumoured to be called O.V.E.R, which was an acronym for Obey the Voice foe Each Rhythm. Before the group settled with their current name, they were simply referred to as Juniors.
After the members showcased their different talents to their company at a picnic, the company finalised their group name to Super Junior, and officially became Super Junior 05, the 1st generation of Super Junior.

Super Junior 05 made their pre-debut performance on the Korean channel Mnet on the 11th of September 2005.
On the 8th of November 2005, their debut M/V Twins (Knock Out) was released, along with the digital release of the song.
On the 5th of December 2005, their debut full length album Twins was released both physically and digitally. On the 12th of February 2006, an M/V was released for their 2nd single Miracle, Miracle was the last track to be promoted from the album.
Owned by SM Entertainment
As promotions ended, the company prepared for the next line-up of the group, but due to fans demanding that they be kept as a permanent line-up and group, SM abandoned the rotational concept and added 13th member Kyuhyun, they dropped the suffix 05 and became Super Junior.

As soon as the album was released, it hit No.1 and stayed at that position throughout the whole week on Korea's Hanteo Weekly Chart. Although Twins was a commercial success after the much anticipated debut of the group in November 2005, the album failed to reach No.1 on the MIAK K-pop Monthly Charts, debuting at No.3, selling 28,536 copies. Twins stayed in the charts throughout 2006, selling an extra 26,510 copies, it sold 10,408 more copies in 2007 and sold 86,659 copies by mid-2008. The album remained within the Top 60 best-selling albums from 2005 - 2008.

Twins peaked at No.3 on the Gaon Albums Chart and No.16 on the Taiwan G-Music Albums Chart.

The M/V for Twins (Knock Out) has so far gained 4,274,446 million views, with the M/V for Miracle gaining 1,829,870 million views, the views for both M/V's continue to increase.

The album is set out in a jewel Cd case, with a clear slipcase, the album comes with the Cd and fold-out lyric sheet, with each of the members on. The slipcase also contains some of the members on the front and back, so all the members are shown on the covers.

When I first listened to this album I was transported back to the 90's, I got the feeling of 90's boy band, which I think not only shows how far Super Junior have come since their debut but how far SM Entertainment and K-pop in general has come since 2005. I think even the fashion and hairstyles looked very 90's too. I always like to go back and listen to Super Junior's debut track and I love to stick on this album as it makes me smile, I love that each track is different from the track before it and showcases each of the members vocals in singing as well as rapping. I also love that we have a mixture of upbeat tracks as well as slower tracks that gives the album a nice little balance, personally for me the only fault is that I wish Kyuhyun had been part of the line-up from debut but overall it's a nice introduction to the powerhouse that is Super Junior.

At times I feel proud of the K-ELF (Korean fans) because we have the Super Junior we have today because those fans in those early days fought for them to be a permanent group, I sit and wonder how the members feel celebrating each anniversary knowing they were never meant to still be a team all these years down the line. I've read that once Kyuhyun completes his military enlistment that Super Junior are planning a group comeback, which is said to also include Sungmin and Kangin, which while one member deserved the time out, the other didn't but all in all I've missed both their voices with the rest of the group and I hope it's true and we do see the return of Sungmin and Kangin.

Have you been an ELF since debut?
Do you feel any nostalgia with this album?
Do you have a favourite track?
