The Eve Illusion is the 2nd instalment in Tom & Giovanna Fletcher's Eve of Man trilogy.

The book was published by Michael Joseph, and published in hardback on the 16th of April 2020, and later published in paperback on the 21st of January 2021.

Eve is the last girl on earth.

For the last sixteen years, Eve has been a prisoner. Guarded by the mothers. Trapped by her fate. Watched by the world.

Until she took her chance, and escaped.

Eve finally has the freedom she has wanted for so long, and with Bram she has the love. But both come at a price. And together with the desperate rebel group fighting against the, Eve has found herself in more danger than she ever could have imagined.

With everything stacked against them, can Eve and Bram survive?

I was a little confused when I first started reading The Eve Illusion because my mind had gone blank from what had happened in the first book because it had been a while since I had read it, but it quickly came rushing back as I was reading the first chapter.

I really liked the journey this book took, we got to see more character development from Eve, especially when it came to making her own decisions, as she has been told what to do for most of her life. I didn't see any new character growth from Bram because, we already got to see a bit in the first book, he's already been able to slightly adjust to life on the outside.

It was nice to get another persons perspective, even though I was slightly confused as to who the hell Michael was when I started reading the first chapter, but it was nice to have someone that was still on the inside that could continue on their plans to get Eve back.

For me this book took many twists and turns that I was and wasn't expecting, I guessed who the snitch was but the main two parts that took me by surprise happen in the last few chapters of the book, even though I accidently spoilt the second one for myself when I accidently saw the last page of the final chapter.

Like the first book, I was hooked from the very first chapter and it didn't take me long to complete book 2, I found it so hard to stop when I came to the end of a chapter, which for me, shows how good a book is because it can completely pull me and make me fully absorbed within the story, wanting to know what will happen next and how they will get out of the predicaments they are in.

I can't wait to see how this series will conclude, I'm so excited for the third and final instalment, and I'm sure it will be just as captivating as the first 2.

There's been a bit of a delay when it's come to posting about this one as part of my reading challenge, as I finished reading it back in January, but just never got round to writing and posting a post on it.

Eve of Man is the first instalment in Tom and Giovanna Fletcher's science fiction romance trilogy. It was published in hardback on the 31st of May 2018 and later published in paperback on the 24th of January 2019. Eve of Man is the first novel written by To and Giovanna as a joint book with Tom focusing on the male perspective and Giovanna focusing on the female perspective.

Against all odds, she survived, The first girl born in fifty years. They called her Eve.
All her life Eve has been kept away from the opposite sex, kept from the truth of her past.But at sixteen it's time for Eve to face her destiny. Three potential males have been selected for her. The future of humanity is in her hands. She's always accepted her fate.
Until she meets Bram.
Eve wants control over her life. She wants freedom. But how do you choose between love and the future of the human race.
Described by Tom and Giovanna Fletcher as an unconventional love story set in a dystopian future - do you embrace your fate - or do you run from it?

I've made no secret in the past about how much I love Giovanna's books, I've read them all and been in love with everyone of them. Tom's on the other hand are mainly aimed at younger readers so I've not read them, but I have bought some of his novels for Skye to read and she's loved them. So when they announced that they were writing a book together I was really excited.
I was not left disappointed, the only thing I struggled with was being able to put it down, I completed it within the space of 24 hours. Personally for me a good book keeps you reading onto the next chapter when it hits a cliffhanger.
I love that it's told from the perspective of both Bram and Eve, which I think shows good teamwork between Tom and Giovanna with Tom writing Bram's perspective and Giovanna writing Eve's perspective.
I think the plot has a good balance and flows just right, it kept me in suspense, excitement and I definitely felt the emotions while reading, I think the romance aspect of the book was predictable but everything else I think was unpredictable, I could never have guessed how it would have panned out, I was extremely gutted when I finished the last page as it meant I am now waiting for book two.
What I love about these types of books is that they get your imagination and brain working and thinking about what you would do if you were forced to live in that type of future.

Dream A Little Dream - Book Review

I make it no secret that I'm a big fan of Giovanna Fletcher, so far I have all her books and each one has been better than the previous, but today I want to share with you her latest creation Dream A Little Dream.

I have a pile of books that I am wanting to read and the pile keeps getting higher with no end in sight and at the top of the pile was Giovanna Fletcher's Dream A Little Dream, I've pretty much had it since it was released but never felt in the mood to read (I have this problem ALOT) and with it wrote in my blog planner that I was due a post soon I got my ass in gear and decided to read it and by golly she's done it again.

Sarah is doing just fine...

Sure, she's been single for the last two years, and has to spend an uncomfortable amount of time around her ex-boyfriend, his perfect new girlfriend and all their mutual friends. And yes, her job as a PA to one of the most disgusting men in London is mind-numbingly tedious and her career is a constant disappointment to her mother. But it's okay. She's happy(ish).

So it's not surprising that when Sarah starts dreaming about a handsome stranger, she begins to look forward to falling asleep every night. Reality isn't nearly as exciting. That is until her dream-stranger makes an unexpected real-life appearance, leaving Sarah questioning everything she thought she wanted.

Because no one ever really finds the person of their dreams...do they?

As much as I loved this book I did find myself rolling my eyes as each dream sequence got closer together but that's nothing against the story I was just really getting into reading how Sarah got on with hanging out with her ex Dan and his girlfriend perfect Lexie, and the rest of the gang. One of the things I love about Giovanna's story telling is how she can make me feel I am actually within the book, it's all real and I'm friends with the characters, don't get me wrong if a book is good I get drawn in and get attached to the story and characters but with Giovanna's books I feel what the characters feel for instance there was an announcement from Dan and Lexie that my reaction was exactly the same as Sarah's, The reader even gets the feel of the closure Sarah gets when Dan reveals all to her. This has definitely become my favourite book from Giovanna, at one point I felt that someone should have covered my eyes as this was her first book to have an in detail sex scene, even Giovanna's husband Tom got a mention in one of Sarah's dreams, which proves that even though it's a fictional story, a reader can relate to matters in the book that many may have experienced in their own, for me I could really relate to all the why should my ex get a happy ending when he did something shitty and I still get all the crap (not that I can relate to it now but definitely my past). I got my book from Waterstones and it also includes a short story titled More Than Friends The story of Carly and Josh, an exclusive short story from Giovanna Fletcher about the blurry boundaries between friendship and love.

I highly recommend this book and her 2 previous books and I hope like me you get the thrill of the roller coaster emotions that come from her masterpieces.

I give this book 5 stars and await her next book.
