BJ Alex is a completed 19+ BL webtoon manhwa written and illustrated by Mingwa.
The series was published and serialized by Lezhin Comics. It was digitally published in Korean by Lezhin Comics from November 24, 2017 to August 7, 2020.
The series was officially published book format by Lezhin Entertainment from February 25, 2021 to December 31,2021. It was published in English from August 31, 2021 to October 19, 2022.
The series is available in 9 languages, Korea, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Polish.

Every night at 10pm, Dong Gyun shuts himself in his room, tissues at the ready, and tunes into his favourite live cam show hosted by the captivating Alex. To Dong Gyun, Alex isn't just another online performer - he's confident, uninhibited, and everything Dong Gyun secretly wishes he could be.
But one drunken night changes everything. After blacking out at a school networking event. Dong Gyun wakes up in an unfamiliar bed... beneath a shirtless stranger who looks exactly like the from his screen.
When fantasy collides with reality, Dong Gyun's carefully guarded world unravels - because facing Alex in the flesh might be far more than he ever bargained for.

Volume 4 begins with Jiwon putting some space between himself and Dong Gyun in a way to show him nothing more will come from the agreement they have and that it's strictly business only. Things slightly come to a head though when Jiwon gets drunk, which he tends to refrain from and Dong Gyun volunteers to take him home. Because of this we see more of why Jiwon is the way he is and why he has no interest in romantic relationships.
Jiwon asserts again that if Dong Gyun has feelings for him than they need to stop their arrangement and go their separate ways, but Dong Gyun not wanting to give it all up, says there are no romantic feelings involved and they carry on, while Dong Gyun his his own inner turmoil about Jiwon and who he's seen in a picture and who Jiwon has mentioned in his sleep.
This volume for me has the worst second-hand moment that lives rent free in my mind whenever I think of this volume and this manhwa/webtoon. I think everyone who has read BJ Alex knows exactly what I'm talking about, and I'm not going to mention it in my post just because if you haven't, I think it's something you need to witness and feel in real time. Even when I read it all again I cringe and hold my breath.
By the end of volume 4 things really come to a head between Dong Gyun and Jiwon and they both know that their arrangement is over. By the end of this volume you can't help but want to continue reading as you want to know if what Dong Gyun said to Jiwon has made him think differently about the way he treats people, especially when it comes to sexual partners and his show.
In the final moment of the main story we also see MD showing Chanwoo BJ Alex's hiatus notice for his show and shows him the footage of what happened, making him realise the conversations he's been having with Dong Gyun were about BJ Alex.
I love that we get a little side story in this volume that shows more of MD & Chanwoo and how their relationship is on cam as well as off com.

For me volume 4, is the volume that makes you move straight onto the next one as it leaves it on the perfect cliffhanger for the main story.

See you soon!

When fantasy collides with reality, Dong Gyun's carefully guarded world unravels - because facing Alex in the flesh might be far more than he ever bargained for.

Volume 3 continues where volume 2 left us, and we get to see Dong Gyun wanting to try new things with Jiwon and experiment more in the bedroom to find out what he likes and dislikes are. We see Jiwon let his jealousy get to him, taking it out on Dong Gyun.
We get to see more of Myungdae in this volume as we get to see more of BJ MD, and his pursuit of a new sub for his cam show. In his pursuit we see him meet with Dong Gyun, which again causes a misunderstanding with Jiwon, he again takes it out on Dong Gyun.
We get a little back story too of how MD originally met Chanwoo and how his interest in him began. We also get to see MD ask Chanwoo to be a part of his cam show as his sub, to which we already know that Chanwoo is into that kind of stuff.
Sadly Dong Gyun allows his feelings for Jiwon to take control in this volume by asking and setting up a date for them both, which eventually causes Jiwon to take a step back and re-establish boundaries with Dong Gyun, we also get a little peak into why Jiwon is the way he is when it comes to relationships.
While we see a little jealousy and a little bonding between DG & Jiwon, we still don't get much in character development from Jiwon.

Volume 3 really brings us more with the story, and by the end you can't help but wonder what Jiwon's backstory is and why he's the way he is. I also love that we get to see more of our side couple and how their relationship begins.

See you soon!

Volume 2 of BJ Alex continues on from volume 1 concluded, and we see what answer Dong Gyun gives to Jiwon to his proposal to help create content for his cam shows. We see Dong Gyun start to question whether he has a say in what they do, where and when to make the content for Jiwon to use. He begins to confide in his friend Chanwoo about the predicament he's in without going into too much detail, with Chanwoo making him see that he also has a say in this deal.
We don't really get much in the way of character development with Jiwon apart from him giving into Dong Gyun's whims and suggestions.
We also get to meet Myungdae that we learn is like Jiwon and has his own cam show under the name BJ MD.
Volume 2 seemingly ends with MD showing an interest in Dong Gyun and interested in asking him to be his sub for his own cam show. Which we see hits a nerve with Jiwon, but I personally feel that at this moment in time it's more because Dong Gyun is his and for his material, rather than him having any feelings for him.

Volume 2 is a good continuation of the story as we get to see more of how each of the characters think and how things could potentially develop.

See you soon!

I'm a big fan of BJ Alex, it's one of the stories I've re-read more than once. I love the characters as well as the development of the plot and characters.
Volume 1 for me perfectly introduces the main characters as well as some of the side characters we begin to grow close to further into the story.  I also love how it shows us how the main characters become entangled with one another and shows how different Jiwon portrays himself in public to when Dong Gyun's finds out his identity.
I love that it's prominently in black and white with flashes of red now and again throughout.
Dong Gyun seems to be really shy and reserved with his only friend seeming to be his co-worker Chanwoo, he's also really naive and doesn't seem to like confrontation.
Jiwon on the other hand is popular and the perfect student and "friend" on the surface, which all changes when Dong Gyun figures out he's the infamous BJ Alex. His let's his mask fall and shows his "true" self to threaten to keep Dong Hyun quiet.
By the end of this volume, Jiwon has put forward a deal to Dong Gyun because he knows he will be able to control him for his own gain.

I don't think I'll ever get bored of re-reading this series, and falling in love with the characters all over again each time.

See you soon!

As this is a drama based around a band, it's only fair that I share with you the amazing songs that feature in each episode.

Matrix - TENBLANK

旋律と結晶 (Crystalline Echo) - TENBLANK

約束のうた (Unbroken) - TENBLANK

Lucky Me - TENBLANK

シトラス (Citrus) - TENBLANK

Play Out Loud - TENBLANK

Chasing Blurry Lines - TENBLANK

君とうたう歌 (A Song For Us To Sing) - TENBLANK (Feat. Yukino Sakurai)

永遠前夜 (Forever Eve) - TENBLANK

Glass Heart - TENBLANK

Akane Saijo is a university student  and plays the drums in a band. Suddenly she gets unfairly kicked out of the band.
Genius musician Naoki Fujitani becomes aware of Akane Saijo and asks her to join his new band TENBLANK.
The band members in his band includes guitarist Sho Takaoka and pianist Kazushi Sakamoto.
Meanwhile, there is a rival band that vocalist Toya Shinzaki belongs to.

Seeing 2 of the names for this drama, and reading the info, and seeing the trailer. I knew that it was a drama I wanted to get my teeth into. I knew it would be a drama that interested me and I wasn't wrong. I absolutely love this drama, it's definitely one of my favourite Japanese dramas, as well as overall drama.
The casting is amazing, they all were amazing in their roles, the story and plot is really good and really well told.
I love that even though this drama is a romance drama it focuses more on the band and the music, which for me gives a more developed love story as we see the relationship grow.
For me TENBLANK is up there with my favourite fictional groups with Given, the music is amazing and knowing that they all played their instruments, made this drama so much more breathtaking and enjoyable.

I absolutely loved Takeru Satoh as Naoki Fujitani. I've only ever watched him play Kenshin in the Rurouni Kenshin live-action films, and I feel like this role put him on a whole other level for me. He was amazing in his role and I love the fact that he sung all the songs too. I wasn't aware that he was able to sing. His character is a perfectionist and wants things to go his way, and when it doesn't, he doesn't stop, until he's got that 100% perfection.
I really liked Yu Miyazaki as Akane Saijo. she brought a naivety to the drama and her character, she really made her believable. I love that when she first gets rejected she dye's her hair a different colour, which probably every woman does when they're moving on from a heartbreak etc. I love that even though her character seems naive, she's still strong and independant and keeps fighting for what she wants no matter what or who tries to bring her down.
I loved Keita Machida as Sho Takaoka. I've seen him in a few things including Alice in Borderland and the High & Low film series. I think this role is definitely my favourite so far. There were times that I made some BL jokes between Sho and Naoki, but you could see how close they were and how much they valued their friendship and their talents. I think Sho was someone in the band that anyone could turn to for help an guidance, even when it all seemed to be breaking down.
I really liked Jun Shison as Kazushi Sakamoto, this is my first drama of his and I have to say, what better drama to start with. He really give me 2nd male lead syndrome. He's a character that knows he's talented but wanted to be the best of the best, you could also tell that he wanted Naoki's approval.
Masaki Suda was amazing as Toya Shinzaki. He's the typical rival and is just as talented as Naoki, but has had to work harder to get to where he is. He comes across as someone who is cold and will get what they want, any way that they want, but we see that he has a warmer and softer side to him.
Reini was really good as Mahiro Arisugawa. While we don't really get much from him, we can see that he really respects Toya. It made me think at times that he had deeper feelings towards him, but I think it's more that he has respect from his as a musician, as well as a friend.
I really liked Erika Karata as Miyako Kai, for me her character was definitely unpredictable. There were definitely times that I felt for her, but it was nice to see her character development towards the end.
I liked Pistol Takehara as Genji Kamiyama, I really liked him as TENBLANK's new manager, as he was the total opposite to Kai. In that he kept them grounded and together, he helped each one of them.
Naohito Fujiki was really good as Ichidai Isagi. He's your typical bad guy. He's in power and will do anything and everything to keep himself at the top and in power. He uses his power to keep his artists with him, and to try and bring Naoki back on his side. Be prepared for no character development, his character is one that never changes and you can tell he has no desire to change who he is.
I loved Akari Takaishi as Yukino Sakurai. I went into this drama thinking she was the love rival and would do anything to make Naoki hers. We see some real character development with her and we see that her relationships change. Hers and Akane's relationship really screams woman protecting woman, rather than them bringing each other down.

I don't think I will ever stop recommending this drama, I've been constantly listening to the bands music, and I'm insanely jealous of Japan getting fanmeet's with them, as well as them performing with One Ok Rock, who I see in October. I think that shows how amazing this drama is.
I won't get over how amazing the cast is and how well they worked together to bring this story to life. It's definitely made me want to read the novel and get more in to the series.

Have you watched Glass Heart?
Were you a fan of the cast?
Did you enjoy the plot?

See you soon!
