I have another recipe to share with you that I've tried from the Pinch of Nom recipe book, this dish is taken from the Fake Away chapter, which holds some of your take away favourites. Today's fake away recipe is Philly Cheesecake, I also want to add that I didn't use all the exact ingredients stated but if you follow the ingredients listed you'll have the perfect fake away.
Let's get cooking!
Ingredients:
150 g steak, cut into thin slices
(all visible fat removed)
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
Low-calorie cooking spray
4 mushrooms, sliced
1/2 onion, sliced
1/2 pepper, deseeded and sliced
(Green, red or yellow)
75 g light spreadable cheese
2 gluten-free ciabatta rolls, split length ways
Start off by seasoning the steak with the salt and pepper, then set aside and leave for 1 minute.
Next spray a non-stick frying pan with some low-calorie cooking spray, place the pan over a high heat, then add the steak and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through.
I then transferred the steaks onto a plate and once cooled cut into thin slices and placed into a bowl.
Next stir the spreadable cheese onto the steak, and mix well.
Add the steak to the pan with the vegetables and stir well.
Finally fill the 2 ciabatta rolls with an equal amount of the steak mix, pop the top of the roll on top and you're ready to serve and enjoy.
I really enjoyed this and will happily make it again, Skye on the other hand just preferred the steak. I'm not normally a fan of peppers but I think the red peppers worked perfectly with the steak, cheese and mushrooms. This is a perfect fake away dish, you can easily eat this and think you're eating something from a fast food place, while knowing it's not as bad for you as a take away would be. I honestly can't wait to cook and have this again.
If you're interested in any of Pinch of Nom's recipe's then you can buy the recipe book in all major supermarkets as well as online retailers Waterstones and Amazon.
See you soon!
