Heaven Official's Blessing is a Chinese BL novel written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, it's also known by it's Chinese name Tian Guan Ci Fu.

Mo Xiang Tong Xiu is a globally renowned author whose works are often cited as the best-known in the modern danmei genre. Originally self-published via the novel serialization website, JJWXC, her current titles include The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, and Heaven Official's Blessing. All three series' received multiple adaptations and have been published in numerous languages around the world.

In China BL is known as Danmei, the novel was first published in 2017, on JinJiang Literature City, a popular Chinese website for publishing and serializing online fiction.

Though not chronologically, the novel and book series, follows Xie Lian, a once human crown prince of the kingdom of Xianle in the east who ascends to godhood at seventeen, after dedicating himself to cultivation and martial training. During the inaugural years of his divinity, his kingdom experiences upheavel and war, due in part to draught and a terrifying new disease. Going against the edicts of both the heavenly realm and of fate, Xie Lian involves himself in the affairs of the mortals who have always loved and supported him, hoping to achieve peace and relieve suffering in his kingdom. Unfortunately, his appearance in the mortal world only amplifies the conflicts between his people and their desperation leads to the dramatic and abrupt downfall of Xianle, as well as the downfall of Xie Lian. The people destroy his temples, statues and abandoning him as their most respected religious figure and earning him the reputation of a God of Misfortune.

The novel is being officially translated into English by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the 4th volume being published on the 30thof May 2023.

Body in Abyss, Heart in Paradise.
White No-Face, Xie Lian;s greatest fear and most hated enemy, has arrived... or so it seems. While the ghost with the half-crying, half-smiling mask is somewhere nearby, the creature is elusive as always, taunting Xie Lian from just out of reach and promising total destruction of everything he holds dear.
A Xie Lian confronts the trauma of his last encounter with the terrifying ghost, Hua Cheng will do anything in his power to protect him. But White No-Face's identity and purpose are not the only mysteries to unravel, as Hua Cheng also has a history in the labyrinthine tunnels beneath Mount Tonglu. Will Xie Lian finally discover the full connection they share - and learn the true depths of Hua Cheng's devotion?

I thought how Volume 4 ended broke my heart, but seeing how things went in Xie Lian's past really broke my heart, especially with how he felt abandoned by those closest to him, as well as the things he went through, for me really made Volume 5 a little hard to read. Thinking about this volume, you can't help but wonder how we have the positive Xie Lian as I would think anyone that went through what he did would ever come out of the other side.
That being said I think what we see in this volume really shapes characters like Feng Xin and Mu Qing as you see they still feel guilt towards how they left and treated Xie Lian, as well as how they still hold their roles as subordinates to Xie Lian close to their hearts as they still aim to protect him in the present.
We see more of how Hua Cheng believed in and adored Xie Lian and helped in keeping his spark alive and would follow him no matter the path he took.
This volume really gives a good look into past events, as well as getting us closer into everyone learning who Hua Cheng really is, and why he's so devoted to being around and helping Xie Lian.
I will never get over how stunning the artwork is for these novels, each volume is as stunning as the last and really adds to  each chapter.

I'm still in the process of reading Volume 7, but I'm ashamed to say that I started it last year and so far this year haven't read any physical books.
I really need to get mu butt in gear and started reading my books again, but a part of me doesn't want to finish this novel series, I love these characters too much.

Have you read volume 6 of Heaven Official's Blessing?

The novel is being officially translated into English by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the 5th instalment being published on the 20th of December 2022.

Last Ghost Standing, First Love Blossoms.
Ghosts are converging on the cursed Mount Tonglu for a massive battle royale, the sole survivor of which may become a Ghost King, a being of unimaginable power.
Xie Lian is sent to secretly infiltrate and try to prevent this - by destroying any ghosts enough to stand a chance.
His heavenly powers are weakened near the cursed mountain, but he has one trump card on his side - Hua Cheng, who has survived Mount Tonglu before. As they struggle against murderous ghosts and the mountains strange defenses, Hua Cheng's knowledge of the area may prove invaluable.
But can they even begin to unravel the cursed peak's secrets?

With everything that happened in Volume 4, of course it wouldn't slow down with Volume 5. I also didn't expect any questions I was left with in Volume 4 to be answered in this volume either.
In this volume we got to get to know some of the previous characters and more of their back stories like Pei Ming, as well as more on both Feng Xin and Mu Qing.
This volume is action packed from the get go as Xie Lian and a weakened younger Hua Cheng make their way to Mount Tonglu to stop a new Ghost King from being born.
Volume 5 focuses more on the present, while giving us a few flashbacks to the past, there's twists and turns throughout as they all learn to trust and rely on one another.
As always the artwork is stunning, we were graced with the adorable child form that Hua Cheng takes and it's the cutest thing ever.

I've already completed Volume 6 and started Volume 7, but I'm starting to take my time as I'm not ready to complete this book series. I've loved each volume so far.

My Christmas Gift Haul 2023

Hello

안녕하세요

(Ni Hao)

We spent Christmas at my sister's again, and as always the dinner was amazing. I was in charge of the baked good as usual and I made the usual lemon drizzle cake, as well as a lemon cheesecake and for the first time I made a yule log.

From the end of October, right up to Christmas week, I was working nights, which was a nice change. I really enjoyed it. I'm now on my countdown to seeing Eric Nam and I can't wait to see who else could be heading to the UK to perform.

Firstly from my brother Michael, sister-in-law Stacey and their kids, I got Harry Potter make-up brushes. I've had these brushes before and I love them. I still use the ones I got in the past, so I can't wait to switch between them, which will make cleaning them a lot easier.

Next from my friend Nichola, her husband Dave and their daughter Grace. I got bath goods and an amazon voucher. I used my voucher towards some new pans. The Christmas bath fizzers are really cute. I can't wait to use them. I also can't wait to use the shower gels because I can tell they're going to smell really nice.

From my friend Mary-Kate, I got some Sailor Moon shot glasses. Which have become my go to Soju glasses. I adore sailor moon and these have been on my to buy list for quite a while.

From my friend Clare, her other half Lee and their kids, I got this amazing Stray Kids tumbler. I absolutely love it, I'm hoping Stray Kids come to the UK this year, and if they do, they will definitely be making the journey to see them with me. I love that I can use it for either hot or cold drinks.

Next from my nephew Owen and friend Alicia, I got this Spa Secrets facial set. I look forward to using this, as it's perfect for when I feel like giving myself a spa day and some down time.

From my nephew Daniel, I got this Lush Little Snow Fairy gift box. I absolutely love Snow Fairy, so I will definitely love using these products.

Next I got this Soap & Glory hands and feet set, from my sisters dogs. I tend to dog sit 2 of her dogs for her a lot, so much so my house has become their 2nd/holiday home. I love Soap & Glory's hand and feet products, they always moisturise my hands and feet and I swear by their heel genius.

From my sister and her husband Bob, I got some cute bed socks and this No.7 Shimmer & Glow make-up set. I can't wait to play around with the make-up. But I have worn the socks, they were really comfy and keep my feet nice and warm.

Next from my mum and her other half Dave, I got £60, which will be going towards any K-pop concert tickets.

Next from Skye, I got this The Nightmare Before Christmas book, that is part of my reading challenge. I also got this Edward Elric POP! figure. I love Fullmetal Alchemist, so I loved receiving this.

Lastly from my dad and his wife Alison, I got Volume 7 of Heaven Official's Blessing, some chocolates and a surprise envelope with £350, which will be going towards K-pop concert tickets. I'm hoping ATEEZ and Stray Kids are coming over so it's being kept for the possibility of getting tickets to see them. With Volume 7 of Heaven Official's Blessing, I've now completed the novel series, so I can't wait to finish reading the rest of them and giving them a special place on my bookcase.

Well that brings me to the end of my Christmas Gift Haul, I loved all my gifts and felt insanely grateful for them all, especially the money as it means I won't need to stress to much when it comes to trying to get tickets.
I always appreciate the time and effort my friends and family put into getting gifts for me.

Did you get some presents from family and friends that's perfect for you?
Let me know in the comments below.

see you soon!
