It's been just over a month since I posted about a Korean drama and I though this time I would share with you the South Korean television series Hi! School: Love On.
The series is written by Lee Jae-Yeon and directed by Sung Joon-Hae and Lee Eun-Mi, it aired from the 11th of July 2014 and concluding on the 19th of December 2014, the series contains 20 episodes and aired on Fridays at 20:55 kst on KBS2.

Hi! School: Love On is a teen fantasy romance series about an angel who has no choice but to become human after unintentionally saving a male student in danger. The now-mortal angel then interacts with teenage high school students and learns about love, friendship and what it means to be human.

Sung-Yeol and Woo-Hyun are two 18-year old boys who are both tormented by the emotional scars of broken families; Woo-Hyun longs to see again his mother who left him as a child, while Sung-Yeol lives with his stepmother that he detests and whom he blames for the break up of his parents' marriage. Both are considered asocial by Korean norms, although popular, brave and public spirited Woo-Hyun drifts through school refusing to apply himself to his studies, Sung-Yeol is studious and does well academically but is dismissive and disrespectful of his parents, aloof and detached from his classmates, appearing cold and arrogant.  The lives of the two crash together when an angel falls from heaven.

For the first time since watching Goblin aka Guardian: The Lonely & Great God, I've come across a drama, where I loved pretty much all the OST, and I'm took back to certain scenes from the series when I hear these songs.

I actually decided to watch this drama because I thought it sounded like something I would enjoy and also because I was already aware of Kim Sae Ron from watching the series To Be Continued. I really enjoyed this drama, I thought the casting was perfect, the chemistry on screen between everyone was on point and I don't think they could have had a better cast ensemble. Even though I find all romance drama's pretty predictable there were moments that threw in a curve ball making you wonder what the outcome would be. I think when it comes to Woo-Hyun and Sung-Yeol they were pretty stereotypical, one has everything, thinks he's better than others so is arrogant, while the other has to work for what he wants and has, so is more easy going and is happy to make friends with anyone and everyone no matter their background. Normally in the romance dramas I've watched it's normally the closed off character that falls in love and ends up with the girl/guy, but it was actually nice to finally see a character whose walls are broken but has to learn to move past being in love with someone who isn't in love with them. I loved Kim Sae Ron in this drama, it's definitely made me more interested and intrigued to see all her other films and dramas to see how she pulls off different characters, she's definitely an actress that will continue to rise. I'd love to praise both Sung-Yeol and Woo-Hyun with their bromance and chemistry together but it's something that comes naturally for them, with them already being close friends and working together in INFINITE, I preferred watching them in scenes when they weren't getting along as I think it would have been harder for them to act out, it also made me wonder how often they laughed while filming those scenes. I normally really despise the bully characters but at times I couldn't help feeling sorry for Jae-Suk, for me he bullied because he was bullied at home by his "family". I also thought it was nice to see Chun-Sik stand up for himself and prove not only to himself but to others that he wasn't as weak as they all thought he was.

Personally for me this drama was 5 stars, it made me laugh and cry, it really did pull on the heart strings, twice it had me full on bawling, with one of those times being the "my dear Woo-Hyun" scene, if you've watched the dram then you know what I'm talking about and I think it's the scene that made every viewer breathe a sigh of relief, the song 너를 (For You) always makes me think of that scene which in turn brings tears to my eyes. I'd happily sit and watch this series all over again and fall in love with each one of the characters and cast.

It's time to share with you another Korean drama that I've watched and this week it's To Be Continued.

To Be Continued is a South Korean web drama series, it aired from the 20th of August 2015 until the 3rd of September 2015. The series aired through MBC Every1 and ran for 12 episodes with each episode lasting around 15-20 minutes, it was also known as We Became Stars and Become Our Star.

The series is a teen fantasy romance drama telling the story of 3 boys in a male idol group who suddenly slip 2 years back in time on the eve of their stage debut.

On the eve of their stage debut, 3 lads from a six-member boy band suddenly and inexplicably find themselves deposited 2 years back in time. Their leader EunWoo warns the others against changing anything of their past so that they can maintain their bright future, but he himself makes a big change that could derail their K-pop careers.

I had this on my list on Netflix to watch for a while, I knew of Astro but it wasn't until I decided to watch To Be Continued that I actually became interested in Astro. I got know the names of the members pretty quickly and even though while my favourite member is Jin Jin, I couldn't help but love and adore MJ, I spent most of my time laughing at his reactions, he definitely added to the comedic value of the series. It was like watching a reality survival show, in that I knew that Astro had already debuted but would the series work out in the end, would friendships be fixed and would they get back to the present. Even though the episodes were short that didn't stop me from being pulled in and eager to watch the next one, I also loved that at the end of each episode you got a look behind the scenes and seeing the bloopers, which I think shows a more human side to the idols. I did actually cry at the end of the last episode and I loved how the final scene was shown of the group and how it changed to a still image introducing the groups name and telling us that their story was To Be Continued.

I think short series' like this is a good way to introduce new groups to fans, as well as showcase what they bring as a group as well as individuals, as well as showcasing their vocals, rapping and dancing skills. Many new idols and groups when they do their first acting project can be cringe worthy but I was pleased with how Astro took on their roles and their acting.If you're just finding and getting into Astro then I think this is a good introduction to the members and putting names to faces.

I keep adding more drama's to my already long Korean drama list and even watching drama's that weren't on my list, I love that I can now choose to watch a drama either on Viki or Netflix and I love that Netflix are adding more Korean drama's, films and variety shows as it looks like the want is increasing.
It's been reported that Astro are having a comeback this month and I can't wait as it will be my first comeback with them and it eases all their fans minds as their future seemed unknown after their company having a little nosedive in the industry but I'm glad to ease their fans Astro are releasing a special album for them.
