It's been a while since we've had a post for a member of Girls Generation, this time it's the debut solo mini album from Yuri with The First Scene.
The First Scene was recorded between 2017 and 2018, and was difficult to prepare due to Yuri's busy and tight schedule. Back in January 2018, after the release of Yuri's single "Always Find You" featuring DJ Raiden, Yuri addressed her fans request for a solo album on SBS Power FM radio show; Park So Hyun's Love Game and stated that the "timing wasn't right" but she was "always thinking about it and preparing for it".
On the 20th of September 2018, it was reported that Yuri was planning on making her solo debut, which was later confirmed by SM Entertainment.
From the 27th of September 2018, till the release of the album teaser images were released.

On the 1st of October 2018, the M/V teaser for title track 빠져가 (Into You) was released.

At her debut showcase on the 4th of October, Yuri revealed that the Girls Generation unit Oh! GG's debut single Lil Touch, which was released the previous month, was one of the two choices for her debut single but ultimately went with (Into You) as Lil' Touch seemed to fit a group more.

The M/V for (Into You) has gained 5,875,373 million views, with the views continuing to increase on a daily basis.

The First Scene is set out in a hardback book style case, like Taeyeon, Tiffany and SeoHyun's debut mini albums.
The photo book is full of pictures in both colour and black & white, all with different styles and settings.
The album comes with Cd, photo book and a random photo card.

Track List:

As a SONE, I know that Yuri isn't one of the members that has the strongest vocals but can hold her own when she gets to sing whether it be covering another members lines or signing her own. I was little surprised that Yuri was the next to get her solo debut but that personally for me, was because I love Sunny and I'd love an album full of Sunny singing, but I don't think that's on Sunny's bucket list right now.  If I had to describe Yuri it would be that she's the member of Girls Generation that gives sexy, sensual and sultry with ease, I can easily see her being a sex symbol for men and women around the world.
I love the album layout and I am in love with the photo book, I think the pictures are breathtaking, which was to be expected from Yuri. I love the fact that each track is classed as a scene and with each scene we get a new setting and Yuri in a different outfit, I love the mixture of the black & white pictures and the colourful pictures, it really brings the photo book together.
The mini album itself, I was completely blown away and I think it proved many wrong that thought she couldn't hold her own. Each track is completely different and we get a mixture of upbeat and slow songs. Each track fits Yuri's voice really well and allows her vocal talent and range really shine, if I had to pick any songs that really shine for me it would have to be Chapter 2 and Ending Credit (To Be Continued), for me Yuri is a sexy and sultry woman which is what 빠져가 (Into You) and 꿈 (Illusion) highlights, whereas Chapter 2 and Ending Credit (To Be Continued) strips that away, and shows off a more raw side to Yuri that we don't get to see as much with her singing. For me also these 2 songs always brings tears to my eyes, she sings them so beautifully and you can hear the emotion in her voice, proving yet again there is no language barrier when it comes to music.
Overall for a debut solo mini album, Yuri knocked it out of the park, sorry Black Pearl, no pun intended there.

I hope that next time we get a solo release from Yuri that some of it's tracks are written by her, as I know she can write some amazing songs.
