I've been so excited about sharing this mini album, my main maknae has finally had her solo debut and been able to show a more mature and sexy side.

On the 10th of January this year (2017), SM Entertainment announced that Girls Generations youngest member SeoHyun, would be making her solo debut, making her the 3rd member of the group after TaeYeon and Tiffany. Just 3 days later on the 10th of January SM Entertainment released the track list for Don't Say No, revealing that singer Eric Nam to be featured on a track titled Hello.
On the 14th of January the first M/V teaser for Don't Say No was released.

Don't Say No was physically released to buy the next day on the 18th of January.

Don't Say No contains 7 tracks, 6 of which were written by SeoHyun herself, with her co-writing track Hello. From the 24th to the 26th of April to help promote Don't Say No, SeoHyun held a solo concert called Love, Still - SeoHyun as part SM's The Agit series, which are concerts held by SM Entertainment's artists at the SM COEX Atrium.

Don't Say No won SeoHyun 1 music show award while promoting through the show M! Countdown. Don't Say No peaked at No.1 on the Gaon Weekly Albums Chart, No.73 on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart, No.23 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart and No.3 on Billboard's World Albums Chart, Don't Say No also peaked at No.5 on Gaon's Monthly Albums Chart for January.
Gaon Sales:
33,041+
Oricon Sales:
1,791+
Total Sales:
34,832+
The Don't Say No M/V has gained 10,977,662 million views so far with views continuing to increase on a daily basis.

Like I, Why, My Voice and I Just Wanna Dance, Don't Say No was set out in a hardback book style case, that follows a more mature and sexy concept from SeoHyun. Most of the styling used in the booklet follows the M/V's concept, with a casual look also added to the booklet. The pictures, styling and colours are stunning and let give of a old Hollywood Starlet look like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.

Track List:
Don't Say No

혼자하는 사랑 (Lonely Love)
Love & Affection
Bad Love
달빛 (Moonlight)

A lot of fans blamed SM for the choice in SeoHyun's title track as they didn't think it packed enough punch to be a debut solo track for her, but in an interview I read, SeoHyun had said that SM's original choice of title track leaned more towards her maknae label, with it being childlike and cutesy, she said she wanted SM to rethink and told them she wanted a more mature sound, thankfully they listened and she chose Don't Say No as her title track. I personally love the whole album and loved seeing and hearing SeoHyun being showcased in a more mature light. SeoHyun may not be my bias in Girls Generation but she is a member I always tend to watch grow musically, I personally think SeoHyun would do well worldwide as she really is an all round entertainer dipping her toes into not only singing but also acting and being part of musicals, it's safe to say that SeoHyun's heart is with music and it shines through in her album and I can't wait for her to return as part of Girls Generation as well as a solo artist. Check out the amazing tracks from her album below.

I'm really proud of SeoHyun for her debut solo release, it proves to SM that she's able to put in the hard work in and it shows that even SM had faith in the songs she wrote. Members of GG have said that they have put songs forward for albums and they have said that they weren't good enough yet. SeoHyun is the only member to have all the songs on her solo release to be written by herself, her songs have also appeared on releases by their sub unit GG-TTS. I hope you at lease love one song from her debut apart from Don't Say No one of the tracks I really love is Hello and I would love to see her perform it live with Eric Nam. SeoHyun is a star that I don't see fading out anytime soon and I hope SM give her more opportunities for solo albums.
