I like to try new recipe's so when I came across this one when I was looking at Chinese dishes, I thought I would give it a go. Especially since Skye seems to enjoy prawns a little more than she used to.
This recipe comes from the BBC Good Food website.

Let's get cooking!

Ingredients
2 tsp sesame oil
1 large orange, juiced & zested
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
3 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsp sesame seeds
Generous pinch of Chinese Five-Spice powder
300g raw king prawns
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
2 spring onions, sliced
200g basmati rice

In a small bowl, mix together the sesame oil, orange zest and juice, honey, soy sauce and vinegar.

In a separate bowl, combine the cornflour, sesame seeds, five-spice and and a pinch of salt.

Next run a small knife down the back of each prawn, so they butterfly out as they cook, helping more sauce to stick to them.

Toss the prawns through the cornflour mixture.

Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan, once hot add the garlic and sizzle for 10 seconds.

Add the prawns, as well as the remaining flour mixture. Stir-fry over a high heat for a few minutes, until the prawns are pink and the sesame seeds are golden.

Tip the prawns onto a plate.

Pour the sauce mixture into the pan. Bubble for a few minutes until thickened.
Add the prawns back into the pan and stir to coat in the sauce. Heat through for another 30 seconds.

Top with spring onions and serve with rice.

This was really easy to cook, the recipe was really simple to follow.
Both myself and Skye enjoyed it, it was full of flavour and the prawns were really juicy.
I'll happily cook this again and I think Skye would love that I did too.

If you would like to follow the original recipe I took this dish from, then head over to the Honey, Sesame & Orange King Prawns recipe page.

See you soon!
