As you can see from my pictures, I have version 02 of the album, and I absolutely love the layout and colour. I'm glad that I decided to countdown to CRAVITY making their debut, not only did their debut title track get me moving, but their debut mini album blew me away, it's a very versatile album, and I think it shows their potential for their future.
As soon as Top of the Chain started I knew I was going love it, it definitely gives you the vibe that CRAVITY aren't here to play and that they're going to take their new journey seriously to reach the top, and not let anything stop them from reaching their goal. As soon as the melody started I was sucked into their world.
Top of the Chain
I think Break All the Rules was an amazing song for their to debut with, it's a song that allows them to showcase all their strengths, it showed how as rookies they're great rappers, vocalists as well as dancers. If I didn't know they were rookies, I would have thought they had been round for a few years. I love the melody, the rapping, the vocals, it's definitely one of my favourite debut tracks. I never get bored of listening to this song, or watching them perform it. I really want to applaud these boys for debuting at the time they did, it can't be easy for a rookie group to perform when they need their fans for encouragement and they can't be there.
Break All the Rules
Mnet K-POP
I was so excited when I saw that Jooheon from MONSTA X had written a song for CRAVITY, it reminds me of MONSTA X's past releases but at the same time CRAVITY made it their own sound, showing that CRAVITY can raise the bar and hold their own in the K-pop world. I definitely fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it, and it left me in awe of each member.
Jumper
I love that even though Blackout is more of a mid-tempo track it still holds a lot of power, from the vocals and the raps.
Blackout
It's now time for CRAVITY to show how they can change things up with 낯섦 (Stay), a song with soft vocals and soft raps. There's something about this song that makes me feel nostalgic.
낯섦 (Stay)
I absolutely love Cloud 9, it shows that CRAVITY are versatile early on, they can't just do powerful and hard hitting choreography performances, they can also sweeten things up and lift your spirits. I think this song is perfect for them as right now they are on cloud 9 as their dreams are becoming reality and they're in it together.
Cloud 9
It's time to close up the album with 별 (Star), this song is absolutely stunning and really sealed their fate for me, all 9 of them have amazing voices and are really talented. For me it's songs like this that show it's not the groups that come before them that prove they have what it takes, it's the group themselves.
별 (Star)
CRAVITY are definitely one of my favourite rookies of 2020 and I can't wait to see how their journey progresses. I can see them becoming a group that creates their own music, and a group that will stand out because of their own sound. They have already released their 2nd mini album and have finished up promotions for it but I can't wait to see what they return with next.
