I said in a past post that the next time I posted about VIXX it would be their Conception Series all in 1 post once it was completed but I think the post would be too long so I've decided to split it up into each part. Last year Starlights were lucky enough to get 3 comeback's from VIXX as well as a 4th song release to fully complete the series, I do not yet have the final release as it's a compilation album and all tracks from their Conception Series was put onto it with 1 brand new song as a thank you to their fans, I have seen many fans being disappointed in the compilation album because of the price as there's not really much new with it but I know I'll end up with it because I have to have a complete VIXX discography.
Lets get this series on the go shall we?
VIXX announced that in 2016 they would be doing a year-long project titled VIXX 2016 Conception Project in which they would be showing off their wide musical and conceptual spectrum and that it would also be themed around Gods that appear in Greek mythology.
On the 28th of March 2016 the project began with the release of the VIXX 2016 Conception Art Film.

On the 10th of April the VIXX Conception Opening Trailer was released.

On the 14th of April the VIXX Zelos Concept film was released revealing their 5th single album to be named Zelos, based upon the Greek God of jealousy and rivalry, Zelos.

On the 17th of April the M/V teaser for Zelos' lead single 다이너마이트 (Dynamite) was released.

On the 19th of April the M/V for 다이너마이트 (Dynamite) was finally released along with the release of their single album Zelos.

Ravi stated that 다이너마이트 (Dynamite) is about a guy being blinded by jealousy and willing to turn the world upside down to get his ex back. Ravi also participated in writing the lyrics for all 3 of the tracks on Zelos.
다이너마이트 (Dynamite) won a total of 5 music show awards, achieving their 2nd triple crown with 3 wins on The Show, 1 win on Show Champion and 1 win on Music Bank.
Zelos peaked at No.1 on the Gaon Albums Chart, No.14 on the Gaon Digital Chart and No.4 on the Billboard World Digital Songs Chart.
Korean Sales: 110,249
다이너마이트 (Dynamite) has 5,478,654 M/V views through their official YouTube channel as well as 1,559,935 views through the CJENMMUSIC Official YouTube channel totalling 7,038,589 views and I'm sure when this post is officially posted the views will have increased again and will continue to do so.
Zelos is in a paperback book style case, with the concept throughout being brightly coloured, the album also has a slipcase with an eye that also shows the cover behind. The members have individual pictures as well as group shots and have 2 wardrobe changes both of which are brightly coloured making the members pop from each background.

I love that VIXX are a versatile group and can pull off upbeat songs as well as dark songs, this series was my first comeback as a Starlight and I wasn't left disappointed with their first comeback for the year and the first part of the series. One thing I love about VIXX's music is they always have an instrumental for the lead single and even without their vocals the music is amazing. While I wasn't really a big fan for the styling in the album they each pulled off what they were wearing, Leo's freckles were just adorable and gave him more of a younger look. I also loved all their hairstyles and hair colours for this comeback, Ken pretty much rocks the blonde look. Each of the 3 tracks sound different and I feel proud that Ravi participated in each of the songs. I was definitely anticipating the 2nd part once I heard this album because I knew the next part would be a level up from this one. Zelos definitely is a mellow album from VIXX, something that I wasn't used to but loved all the same, it was a pleasure to see a softer side to them and each song showcased each of their vocals. It's started out mellow and light but trust me this series is only going to bet better and darker as we enter the underworld, part 2 next week.
