Lush: Hair Care!

Hello

So I thought I'd do another Lush post and share my experience on some of the hair care they have. When I went back blonde I had a little trip into Lush and was talked into trying one of their shampoo's and I can't wash my hair without also using conditioner so got help with choosing one right for me.

One thing I love about the staff in Lush is that they're all really friendly, happy to help and give guidance on what they offer and they're not too in your face with trying to help you, if you don't require help they'll happily leave you to it to help someone who does.

The shampoo I went with was called Daddy-o and the conditioner I went with was American Cream.

Daddy-O
Lush description
Daddy-O works to add volume and shine to your hair. It’s the lemon and organic lime juice which allow the cuticles to lie flat and reflect more light, helping the hair to shine. We've created an infusion from toothed wrack seaweed and organic lemons, that cleanses and softens. Extra virgin coconut oil hydrates the hair, whilst fine sea salt gets to work by to softening and giving body to your hair. What makes this extra special is that it can revive your silver and blonde tones

I bought this shampoo a few months ago and with my hair being short don't need a lot of it to thoroughly lather my hair, even though I do sometimes use more than I need to just because it smells divine, so as of yet I haven't ran out, but when I do I will be re-purchasing it. It's a gorgeous shade of purple and I love rinsing my hair and seeing all the purple foam in the bath. The bonus of this shampoo is my hair stays cleaner longer and the gorgeous scent stays too, I've had so many nice compliments from people that it smells gorgeous with many asking what shampoo I use. depending on the size of bottle you want the prices vary with a 100g bottle being £5.75, 200g £11.25, 500g £18.50 and a 1kg bottle being £31.50. I bought the 250g bottle and where it's more expensive than other shampoo's I have bought and tried I've definitely got my moneys worth out of this, it leaves my hair feeling gorgeous and silky, my blonde definitely lasts a nicer shade longer, and if you don't believe me then check out the reviews on the Lush website.

American Cream
Lush description
A milkshake-thick conditioner with a strawberries and cream fragrance to leave your hair soft and shiny. Fresh strawberries help cleanse the hair, and are rich in vitamin C. We've added a splash of orange juice to add gloss too, since its acidity makes the hairs' cuticles lie flat and allows it to reflect more light. To top it off, this contains soothing clary sage and calming lavender for your scalp.

I bought this conditioner when I bought the shampoo and like the shampoo it's definitely getting it's use as I don't have to use too much on my hair, I can feel the difference in my hair as soon as I apply the conditioner and the feeling remains once it's washed out. Both Daddy-O and American Cream have very different fragrances and thankfully they don't over power each other, which I like as the shampoo is gorgeous. With many conditioners I have trouble getting all the residue out and can be scrubbing at my scalp for a while making sure it's washed out but with this it pretty much does it straight away. The fact that it's thick is also another reason you don't need to much of it. Like Daddy-O, American Cream can get slightly pricey too with the 100g bottle being £4.75, 250g £9.25 and the 500g bottle being £14.95, I have the 250g bottle but as much as I love this conditioner don't know if to stick with it or try out another Lush conditioner. Like Daddy-O, American Cream has a lot of good reviews so check them out on the Lush website.

Is there any Lush hair care you swear by? or any that you can recommend me to try, remember where your locks are concerned whether they're Blonde, Brunette, Black, Red, Multi-coloured or Grey, it's the quality of your shampoo and conditioner that counts not the quantity.
See you soon!

    1. The thing I love about Daddy-O is that they aim it at blondes but my other half loves to use it as it makes his hair feel so much better and he has dark brown hair.

  2. Be careful with lush if you ever go back red, it's got a tendency to strip colour.
