D-DAY is filled with "thought-provoking social commentary and personal reflections". Agust D addresses themes of liberation "from feeling a certain way... from letting the past and future...control us" and freedom on D-DAY. H ruminates on the meaning of both, whether they're "a blessing or a curse", and "encourages listeners to concentrate on focusing inward, instead of  looking to the past at regrets or at the future with fear".

According to Hanteo Chart, D-DAY sold 1,072,311 copies worldwide on it's first day, surpassing Jimin, who sold 1,021,532 copies of his solo debut album face on it's release day.
Agust D became the second Korean solo artist in Hanteo Chart history, after Jimin, to surpass 1 million first day sales.

Agust D co-wrote on the lyrics for D-Day.
Agust D wrote and produced 해금 (Haegeum).
Agust D and J-Hope co-wrote on Huh?! with Agust D also co-producing.
Agust D co-wrote AMYGDALA, People Pt.2 and Snooze.
Agust D co-wrote and co-produced on SDL, 극야 (Polar Night) and Interlude: Dawn.

D-DAY peaked at No.1 on the Circle Albums Chart, No.2 on the Oricon Albums Chart, No.41 on the UK Official Album Chart, No.2 on the Billboard 200 Chart and No.1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

I have the version 02 album and I really like the photobook, I love the dark and grungy style pictures as I love the paper used for the pages, it definitely adds to the concept of the album.
For me the album itself is Agust D's style, I love that Suga changes up his music from that of BTS, it really shows how talented he is musically.

When done right autotune and affects on voices can work perfectly, and for me with D-DAY, it works perfectly and adds more layers to the track. I love the melody, everything for me about this track is perfect. It's definitely the perfect opening track to the album.
D-DAY

I absolutely love 해금 (Haegeum). I think the tempo of track works perfectly with Suga's rap style, he definitely knows what works the best for his rapping as well as his vocal tone. While the tempo seems a little slow and cold, his rap heats it up. I love the addition of the traditional instruments too.
해금 (Haegeum)

I love the melody for Huh?! (Feat.J-Hope). For me this is a perfect track from a BTS member, because they're held on such a high pedestal, they're scrutinized so much more closely. People make assumptions about them, and I'm sure at times they roll their eyes at what they see written about them. I love J-Hope's addition to this track their vocal tones work so well together and bounce off one another. I love that Suga still uses negativity from haters to create his music, I think it shows that he still uses it to make amazing music.
Huh?! (Feat. J-Hope)

Just from the melody alone, you know that AMYGDALA is an emotional track. I wouldn't think autotune would work for a song like this but I think it works perfectly, as it can be seen as the voices in his head that whisper his dark thoughts.
AMYGDALA

I love that Suga often has a song that's slightly different and a little brighter and SDL is one of those tracks for me. It has a different vibe to his usual tracks and I love it. He has a softness to his voice when he sings on a track that not many people know about as his rap is more well known.
SDL

I absolutely love People Pt.2 (Feat. IU). I love the melody and I will always love Suga & IU working together, they make amazing songs together. IU's vocals with Suga's rap works so perfectly well together.
People Pt.2 (Feat. IU)

The start of 극야 (Polar Night) threw me off on first listen because it seemed a little off beat with the rap and melody, but as the melody fully starts it's stunning against the rap. This song really makes you listen to what he says about the things that really matter.
극야 (Polar Night)

how stunning is Interlude: Dawn. Even though it's just music the hope you feel from it is outstanding. It's like the light is returning from the darkness you've been stuck in.
Interlude: Dawn

I always forget about the Woosung from The Rose appeared in an Agust D track and Snooze (Feat.Ryuichi Sakamoto & Woosung of The Rose) is a stunning track. For me this really is a track that makes an impact with Suga's rap, Woosung unique vocals and Ryuichi Sakamoto's composition.
Snooze (Feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto & Woosung of The Rose)

I love how Life Goes On starts and I think it's the perfect track to end the album with as well as the best ending to Suga's message with this album.
Life Goes On

I love this album and I love that Suga uses his music not just to tell his own stories but to also connect people together as well as help them and heal them. Nothing will ever change my mind on Suga being a musical genius. There's something about his music that I always love his solo work as well as feeling a connection to it. I always look forward to Agust D's return, and I especially can't wait for BTS' return.
