I have the X-File version of the album, and I love the layout. I also love the photo book it gives off a modern risqué style of vibe. I love the darker styling and the lighting used is stunning, it really adds to the concept. I love that they all dyed their hair the same colour for this era, and I have to say for me this was definitely Shuhua's era, she rocked the concept and the blonde hair.
The album itself shows off their versatility, while keeping to their vintage classic concept, each track gives you a different vibe and shows off them as a group as well as members perfectly.
I remember on my first listen of Nxde, I didn't know what to think because it was very different from Tomboy. I couldn't make up my mind on whether I liked it or not. There was definitely aspects of the track that I liked on the first listen, but there were also aspects that I couldn't make my mind up on, which in turn, left me confused about the song. The more I listened to it the more unique it sounded to me and the more I fell in love with it. So much so that I can't wait to see this song performed live in person.
Nxde
What I love about Love is that it isn't the type of song you'd think it would be with the title. For me this song isn't just for women, even though I though I feel it's female empowering track, it's also a good message for men too. Many people after a breakup wonder what they did wrong and what's wrong about them. I came out a relationship, wondering the exact same thing. I also hated the way I looked because I came out of the relationship a lot curvier than when I went into it. On learning to love myself the way I am, I've now come to love being single and the woman I am, and now go by the mindset that you can't expect someone to love you if you don't love yourself. I really connect to this track and it's definitely one of my favourites on this album.
Love
I love the melody for Change, and I love that a majority of the track is sung in English. For me the lyrics give of the impression their signing about Idol life. It's very well known that idols have to be perceived as perfect, if not it's very quick to be turned against. More and more, the dark side if K-pop is coming to light, but there was a time that all you got to see was how happy and perfect they were.
Change
The melody for Reset is stunning. I love their voices against the melody, it's such a stunning ballad, it shows how vocally talented all 5 members are, it truly shows how unique each of their voices are and how they compliment one another.
Reset
I love that 조각품 (Sculpture) has a vintage vibe, it may not be one of my favourite's from the album, but it definitely makes an impact. It's definitely a song that many people can relate to, how many people have tried to change themselves to match better with a lover, even with a friend.
조각품 (Sculpture)
I absolutely love the melody for Dark (X-File), I love how dark and eerie it sounds. The melody fits each of their vocal tones perfectly. I personally think this is a perfect track to end the album with. It's one of those tracks that makes (G)I-DLE different from the typical girl group.
Dark (X-File)
Reading more into this album, I love them meaning to the albums name, the members said that they wanted to respect all types of love and leave it to each listener to substitute with their own form of love, whether it be family, friends, a lover, hobby, dream, or one of the many kinds of love there is. I love that Soyeon fought for this album and it's title track because the meaning and message is perfect. Soyeon on talking about the albums core message said "I'd rather be hated for who I am than to be loved for who I am not' is the main message I wish to convey. I want that to be the main message of our next title song." "Like our previous album, this one is to beat the stereotypes, 'Even if you stopped loving me, I would choose to be who I am".
The more I listen to (G)I-DLE, the more I love what they stand for. For me they are one of the most unique female groups out there, they push the boundaries and stay true to themselves rather than falling in line to what is deemed to be a typical K-pop girl group.
