Heaven Official's Blessing is a Chinese BL novel written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, it's also known by it's Chinese name Tian Guan Ci Fu.

Mo Xiang Tong Xiu is a globally renowned author whose works are often cited as the best-known in the modern danmei genre. All three series' received multiple adaptations and have been published in numerous languages around the world.

In China BL is known as Danmei, the novel was first published in 2017, on JinJiang Literature City, a popular Chinese website for publishing and serializing online fiction.

Though not chronologically, the novel and book series, follows Xie Lian, a once human crown prince of the kingdom of Xianle in the east who ascends to godhood at seventeen, after dedicating himself to cultivation and martial training. During the inaugural years of his divinity, his kingdom experiences upheavel and war, due in part to draught and a terrifying new disease. Going against the edicts of both the heavenly realm and of fate, Xie Lian involves himself in the affairs of the mortals who have always loved and supported him, hoping to achieve peace and relieve suffering in his kingdom. Unfortunately, his appearance in the mortal world only amplifies the conflicts between his people and their desperation leads to the dramatic and abrupt downfall of Xianle, as well as the downfall of Xie Lian. The people destroy his temples, statues and abandoning him as their most respected religious figure and earning him the reputation of a God of Misfortune.

The novel is being officially translated into English by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the 2nd volume being published on the 15th of February, 2022.

The Touch of a Hand, a Roll of the Dice
Xie Lian has confirmed that the bewitching youth San Lang is actually Hua Cheng, one of the four calamities and a supreme ghost despised by all heavenly official's.
Still, he has trouble matching the terror of his companion's reputation with the charming, clever, and protective young man he's come to know.

When a distress signal leads Xie Lian into Ghost City, a bustling metropolis containing all the horrors and delights of the dead, he sees Hua Cheng in his element - and his true form - for the first time.
But despite their chemistry and care for one another, there are missions to fulfill and secrets to uncover, and Xie Lian's centuries of troubled history are never far behind.

I think it's safe to say that it didn't take me long to work my way through this book, in fact I read it quicker than the first volume. I really struggled to put this volume down as I was eager to find out how it would end. I loved getting to know General Nan Yang and General Xuan Zhen, while they try to keep their distance from Xie Lian, you can see how they still feel a duty to care for him and protect him. I loved reading about their past and youth as we get a taste of Xie Lian's past before he ascended and it gives more background to the villain of this volume.
I loved reading more on Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's relationship, and how it changed a developed throughout the volume, with everything happening.
I lost count of how many times I found myself holding my breath with anticipation on what was going to happen next and I can't wait to get my hands on volume 3 and get stuck in.
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has shown again with this volume, just how much of a talented author she is.
The artwork yet again is absolutely stunning and breath taking, adding even more to this novel and allowing the reader to fully enjoy it and be immersed to the very end.
Yet again I love that the character & name guide is used again at the end of the book, giving details of new characters that we meet in volume 2, as well as the meaning to their names, as well as the locations, and how to pronounce key characters names.
I also love that the glossary remains in this volume too, which delves into the Chinese culture.

I can't wait to see how Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's relationship continues to develop, as well as read more about General Nan Yang and General Xuan Zhen.
I also can't wait to read more about about Xie Lian's past and how both he and Hua Cheng's pasts collides with their present.
If you haven't I recommend starting this novel series, maybe you'll find a new novel to fall in love with.
