This series has such a good OST and I was insanely proud to see a group I follow put their name to a BL series.

Tae Kyung is a 18-year-old high school student. He is also a lifelong loner. But one day, he starts questioning his own judgement and tells a teacher that he no longer wishes to be alone.
The problem is, he has no idea  how to start going about making new friends. The teacher advises  him to join the school's student council. He agrees,  but discovers that making friends  may be harder than it seems.
He meets the vice president of the council, Shin Woo, who is cool and level-headed, but also somewhat cold towards him and reluctant to accept Tae Kyung. However, he also meets the super-attractive president of the council: Da On who appears to take an instant shine to him.
The beginnings of a romance appear to be in the cards for Da On and Tae Kyung, but Shin Woo does not seem to approve. Matters are further complicated by the fact that Da On's close female friend - who secretly loves Da On - is jealous of their closeness, and attempts to drive a wedge between them!

I really enjoyed this series, I thought it was so well written and acted that everyone involved needs a round of applause.
I loved that this series is in a school setting as it makes it more real for those that are going through the feelings and emotions that the characters are going through, not everyone find it easy to make friends and not everyone feels comfortable revealing their sexual orientation or even how they identify themselves, because even though there are celebrations and fights like pride month, it's still very much a taboo subject, in the fact that not everyone is welcoming or supportive of how people identify. Which is also something we see in this series, many people are still in that mindset of man + woman = how it should be.
What I loved about Lee Sae On as Woo Tae Kyung is that he realises that he's alone and wants to change that, he wants friends and support from those around him, something which we see as the show develops, helps him to be a little more outgoing, as well as able to communicate with others better about who he is, something that Lee Sae On shows us perfectly. I love that Tae Kyung never second guesses when he starts having feelings for another guy because you can tell with his character that love is love, no matter who it's with.
On the other hand we have Kang Yoo Seok as Noh Shin Woo, that's been burned before at a previous school because of his sexuality. Because of this he initially wants to keep his distance from Tae Kyung, which we later find is because he's attracted to him and he's scared of his past repeating itself, even though his friends are always supportive of him.
I loved Choe Chan Yi as Shin Da On, you can't help but fall for Chan Yi's smile, which is why I developed major 2nd male lead syndrome, but I'm glad it doesn't go the way I want it to because it helps Da On grow as a person and accept his own feelings, which he at first denies because to him it will mean he's not perfect or a class A student in the eyes of his parents peers and classmates, because of this he doesn't like to let anyone down, meaning he puts himself below overs to get people to accept him the way he thinks he should be and act.
I absolutely loved Go Woo Jin as Namgoong Shinwoon, he added comedy to this series show, and he embodies those that are accepting and welcoming to anyone and everyone no matter how they identify. He's really protective of his friends, something which we see when each of them are in need of a friend and a shoulder, even when there is no hope because of what they've done, he will help them get back on the right path.
Lee Ki Hyun as Seo Hae Bit embodies what all teachers should be, supportive and accepting of all those they teach, a teacher is their to help and guide and that's exactly what Seo Hae Bit does. He sees Tae Kyung struggling alone and encourages him to make friends, and through this he gains respect from the student council members, so much so they return the favour and show their appreciation for him and what he's done.
Lee So Hee is your typical character of if she can't have Da On, no one can, because she believes he will eventually fall for her and they'll eventually be together, something which Yang Seo Hyun plays perfectly. Even though she loses all of Da On's trust when secretly outing both him and Tae Kyung because of her jealousy, he eventually forgives her because it helps him to come to terms with how he feels not only about himself but about those around him. She also finds a true friend in Tae Kyung as they grow closer together. It did kind of hint that So Hee and Shinwoon start to have romantic feelings for one another, but I'm glad they didn't take away from the real story and growth between Tae Kyung, Shin Woo and Da On.

For me this show really is about growth and acceptance, we often hear about how someone is brave when it comes to revealing their sexuality or even how they identify themselves, but you would hope that by now that being who you are, shouldn't be something to hide. This is why Pride month still exists because for this very reason it's still needed.
I really recommend that you give Light on Me a watch, maybe you'll see yourself or your own circumstances in these characters and if it can help someone accept who they are, or help those be more accepting then to me, this show and the actors have done their job perfectly.
