I'm back with another release from SM Entertainment's newest male group, and this time it's a comeback with all units together. NCT 2018 Empathy is the first full length album from NCT and the debut of NCT as a whole group.
Mid-January 2018, SM Entertainment unveiled NCT 2018, which is a project involving all members of NCT. On the 30th of January 2018, NCT 2018 Yearbook #1 was released, which introduced 3 new members; Kun, Lucas and Jungwoo.

On the 1st of February 2018, NCT 2018 Yearbook #2 was released.

On the 6th of February 2018, it was announced that NCT would release their 1st full length album, and that 6 M/V's would be released through it. Then on the 13th of February 2018, the M/V teaser for NCT U's Boss was released.

On the 14th of February 2018, a video titled The Bosses: Taeyong, Doyoung, Jungwoo, was released.

Finally on the 19th of April 2018, the M/V for Black on Black containing all 18 members was released.

Promotions were held for Boss, Baby Don't Stop, Go, Touch and Black on Black, on the 27th of March NCT 127's Touch won the No.1 spot and trophy on music show The Show.
Like in past NCT releases, Taeyong and Mark co-wrote on Boss, Yestoday, Black on Black and 일곱 번째 감각 (The 7th Sense). Taeyong co-wrote on Baby Don't Stop and Mark co-wrote on Go.
NCT 2018 Empathy reached 203,000 pre-orders before it's release.
The album peaked at No.2 on the Gaon Albums Chart, No.10 on the Oricon Albums Chart, No.68 on the UK Albums Downloads Chart, No.9 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart and No.5 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
The album also peaked at No.3 on the Gaon Monthly Albums Chart for March.

Each of the M/V's have had success, with the Boss M/V gaining 51,282,377 million views, the M/V for Baby Don't Stop gaining 31,845,939 million views, the M/V for Go gaining 17,499,578 million views, the M/V for Touch gaining 17,292,949 million views, the M/V for Yestoday gaining 6,718,936 million views and the M/V for Black on Black gaining 15,415,455 million views. The views for each M/V rise each day, with their most popular M/V being NCT U's Boss.
NCT 2018 Empathy was released in 2 versions; Dream and Reality.
Both versions are set out in a box case, coming with a Cd, photo book, lyric paper, random postcard and a random photo card. The photo book for both versions are completely different, with the photo book for Dream being the official pictures used for teasers and promotion, and the photo book for Reality being more of a behind the scenes style pictures. The album designs for both versions are the same but a different colour, with the Dream version being colourful and the Reality being black and white.

As you can see from the pictures, I have the Reality version of the album. I actually didn't buy this album on it's initial release, it was when I saw them dance to Black on Black on Weekly Idol that I decided to buy the album both physically and digitally. I loved that Dream and 127 swapped their concepts for this album, showing Dream with a darker and harder concept, while 127 got a brighter and softer concept. Like all NCTizen's (fandom name) when it was announced that NCT U would finally be making their comeback I was gutted and annoyed that it seemed that Ten had been removed from the unit, but thankfully with U's next return we got the duo of Taeyong and Ten. Like all of NCT's albums, I was in love with all the tracks and wasn't left disappointed, each track is different from the one before, showcasing each of their vocal skills and giving off the excitement of how the choreography would look. We also finally got a physical album containing NCT U's debut tracks, as well as Ten's stunning debut solo track. This album really has everything from hard hitting tracks, to stunning slow songs with amazing vocals. This album really proves that not only are NCT a very versatile group, but they have a very long career in front of them, I can see them being successful globally. I can't wait for them to return as NCT again in the future.

We're getting a new NCT unit during the second half of the year, and it looks like it's the Chinese unit, which hopefully means Kun finally gets to debut properly. NCT Dream have also just made their comeback and it looks like it's possibly their last comeback with Mark as a member. I'm glad that Jaemin was finally well enough again to join in with NCT's promotions and perform again with Dream, I'd definitely missed his smile. I look forward to what NCT will bring to us in the future whether it be in their units or as a full group, they're definitely an exciting group to follow.
