The next day on the 9th of September 2015, Red Velvet's first full length album The Red was released both digitally and physically.
The concept for The Red focuses solely on the group's red image, stemming from the group's name and concept, Red shows their vivid and bold image, where their brighter and bubblier songs fall under, while the "Velvet" half is their more mature and sophisticated side.
Red Velvet held a comeback showcase where they performed Dumb Dumb and had their first comeback stage on M Countdown on the 10th of September 2015, beginning their promotions for their title track Dumb Dumb and their album The Red.
Dumb Dumb was the most viewed K-pop video in America as well as worldwide for the month of September, December 2015 Dumb Dumb was included in Rolling Stones' 10 Best Music Video's of 2015. Billboard's Jeff Benjamin called The Red "an impressive, solid debut album" and stated that it "indicates big things for the act that needs to follow in the footsteps of their beloved female label mates Girls Generation and F(x)". Noisey stated that it's "perhaps the strongest top-to-bottom K-pop album to date", praising it's daredevil song forms, harmonies richer and smarter than anything on Western dials in a quarter-century, and non-stop virtuoso songsmith hooks - without so much as a single English infection out of place".
Dumb Dumb won 5 music show trophies with 1 win on Inkigayo, 1 win on The Show, 1 win on Show Champion and 2 wins on M Countdown.
The Red peaked at No.1 on the Gaon Albums Chart, No.47 on the Oricon Albums Chart. No.24 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart and No.1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
The Red also peaked at No.3 on Gaon's Monthly Albums Chart for the month of September as well as peaking at No,53 on Gaon's Year-end Albums Chart for 2015.

Cool World
I was a little let down by the layout of the album as when The Red was released I was used to all the big and fancy album concepts. I love that this album on a whole is upbeat, energetic and sounded like it was a lot of fun to create. I wouldn't say that Dumb Dumb is one of my favourite title tracks from Red Velvet but it's definitely a catchy song and is really a good song to brighten your mood and raise your energy. Personally for me I wasn't a fan of the styling for Dumb Dumb some of the styling felt a little childlike but overall from start to finish The Red is an amazing album and each song even though as energetic as the last all sound different.
Check out some of the amazing tracks below.
