Welcome to another anime posts this time is a series called ChaoS;HEAd. The series started off as a Japanese visual novel and a game with it eventually being made into a manga following the storyline of the visual novel and featuring the voice actors of the game for their characters. The anime was dubbed by Funnimation so features some well known voices.

The series follows the main character Takumi Nishijou who is a high school student and lives in a storage container and spends most of his time playing games, he doesn't have a big interest in the outside world and often has delusions of his favourite anime character Seira Orgel.

Set in Shibuya, Japan, 2008. Takumi Nishijou, a high school student at the Private Suimei Academy, one day hears about the 'New Gen' murders that have been occurring around the city. Although dismissing the subject because it doesn't involve him, Takumi begins to experience strange mishaps around him, from a horrific picture he received while on his PC, to a mysterious Pink-Haired girl standing at a murder scene. From there on Takumi struggles to cope with the events unfolding around him, and is soon unaware of what is real or a delusion. As his fate opens up before him, the perpetrator behind the 'New Gen' events attempts to find him, leading him into a world where nothing is as it seems.

This series focuses on the main protagonist, Takumi Nishijou, a borderline hikikomori who shuts himself inside a cargo container and very seldom attends the bare minimum of school. After playing his game, he notices the incoming messages from his user friend Grim, he learns two events of New Generation Madness which he little knows about it. That was when his sister came. After his sister left, he notices incoming messages coming from his other user friend Shogun, that was giving him loads of image links regarding to New Generation Madness. He was shocked to see one of the images as his mouse accidentally dropped. Then later one night when he was returning from @Cafe, he heard clanking sounds of metal hitting against something along the alley. After finding out the source of the sounds, he saw something most shocking in his life.

Under an overcast, rainy sky, a blue-haired high school boy lies among the shattered ruins of a city, and a pink-haired high school girl appears, wielding a large bladed weapon, who kneels beside him and kisses him while resting the point of her weapon on his chest. Takumi Nishijō is a very reclusive person who lives in a storage container; he is not interested in the real world and suffers from a delusion with Orgel Seira, his favourite anime character. His friend Misumi tells him about a series of incidents called the New Generation events. Takumi chats with a person named Shogun who shows him a barrage of image links depicting a murder of a man being hung by stakes. Horrified, he goes to an internet café to ease his mind. After, he walks into a dark alley and is horrified to watch the murder he saw online; only it is real and happening in front in his eyes. He also sees a pink-haired schoolgirl covered in blood wearing his school's uniform standing right next to the bloody scene. She then calls out his name. He runs away while unintentionally carrying one of the stakes. The next day, he feels someone is stalking him and finds it was a girl named Yua Kusunoki. She tells him that she too is a fan of Seira. After some initial reluctance, he finally agrees to accompany her to pre-order the latest Seira figurine. The next day, he is shocked to find the pink-haired girl sitting next to him.

In my honest opinion the show starts off with so much potential but as I started to get through the episodes I began to get confused from what was actually happening, it got to the point that I lost interest in the show, so went to Wikipedia to read up on the episodes and even more confused by what was to happen in the show and for me what I read the show ends very anti-climatic, I prefer my anime's either to end so you want to watch the next season (if there is on) or end so you get closure for all the characters my favourite for this matter is Fullmetal Alchemist.

I purchased this DVD on an impulse buy from HMV, both me and Andrew thought it sounded really good and like something we would watch, plus I loved the cover they used for it, which I have mentioned before that if I like the cover for an anime or manga I'll give it a go.

I may some day give the anime another shot but next time I think I'll read the visual novel first and see if that helps with the understanding of what's going on, this is also the first anime where I've not liked or found the lead male attractive.
