I've been trying to get more dramas watched lately especially Chinese, in the past couple of weeks I've completed 4 dramas including Well-Intended Love, which popped up as a spotlight series on my Netflx.
Well-Intended Love is a Chinese romance drama series and is also known as How, Boss Wants To Marry Me. The series was directed by Wi Qiang and aired from the 17th of January 2019, concluding on the 14th of February of the same year, the series aired every Thursday on Sohu TV and contains 20 episodes with a runtime of 45 minutes each.
The series has been confirmed for a second season with all the original cast reprising their roles.

Main Cast:
Xu Kai Cheng as Ling Yi Zhou

Like with other dramas there was a few songs from the soundtrack that stuck out for me and took me back to moments in the drama.
Zheng Hong - Deep Breath

Keke Tong - Sweet Fermentation

Muji Shaonian - Exclusive Love

A third-rate actress with Leukemia becomes entangled with CEO Ling because she needs him for treatment. In order to receive bone marrow sooner and to continue her career as an actress, Xi Lin enters enters into a secret marriage with Ling Yi Zhou, the CEO of a company. Despite the conspiracies and misunderstandings they encounter, the two find true love.

As soon as this drama popped up on my Netflix spotlight, I added it to my list and started watching it. I was hooked from the first episode and it only took me a couple of days till I had completed the whole series. While I really enjoyed the series, story line and the cast there were parts of the drama that did make me feel a little uncomfortable. I guess the best way I can describe it is that at times Xi Lin and Ling Yi Zhou's relationship pretty much conveys emotional abuse as well as An Ran's deadly obsession with Ling Yi Zhou, meaning she doesn't care how she gets what she wants even though it's not what he wants, other than that the series had me in suspense as well as laughing and crying.
While I wanted everything to end well for Ling Yi Zhou and Xi Lin, I actually found myself with my fingers crossed more that everything ended well for Wen Li, he's just an adorable and loveable character. There were even times that I was debating whether I wanted Ling Yi Zhou and Xi Lin to end up together or if I wanted Xi Lin to end up Chu Yan, emotionally she probably better off with Chu Yan, but I did feel that she and Ling Yi Zhou personality wise were a better fit.
The cast really worked well together and I thought they had amazing chemistry, I've even looked into finding more dramas with Xu Kai Cheng, Ian Yi and Huang Qian Shuo, I've also now because of Ian Yi, introduced myself to speXial.
I'm really excited that the show is returning for a second season and even more excited that they're all reprising their roles, which for me shows that they all enjoyed the characters they played as well as all enjoying working together. I'm excited to see what will happen in the second season as I have no idea where they can go with the story line.
I think Well-Intended Love will be like marmite for some viewers, you'll either love it or hate it, and for me it definitely hit the love button, I really struggled to turn it off at the end of each episode as I was eager to find out what would happen next, it definitely took turns that I wasn't expecting and even found myself punching the air with some of the twists and turns.

    1. I've not watched season 2 yet, I tend to watch drama's on Viki, but the subtitles were a bit slow, I screamed though when I saw that it's now on Netflix. I can't wait to watch it.
