The series was filmed at Shanghai SongJiang University Town, East China University of Political Science & Law and Shanghai Commercial Plaza from September until December 2015.
The fictional game in the universe uses the content provided by A Chinese Ghost Story, a popular MMORPG game in China.

The series ranked first in TV ratings and became the No.1 most searched and discussed topic online during it's broadcast, it was also well received internationally. The series was praised for following the details of the novel faithfully, as well as it's refreshing and unique plot.
Love O2O does not succumb to overused cliche's and plot devices, making it stand out from drama's with similar themes.

As always there is songs from the drama that dive me straight back into the excitement, comedy and romance of the episodes.

I'd seen so many people recommend this drama when looking at comments for other drama's when people were asking for recommendations, it wasn't till I was watching the first episode that I realised I'd actually read a few chapters of the manga Just One Smile is Very Alluring, I only got through a few chapters as it was rare it got updated, so I stopped reading it. Without even completing the manga I could tell it was true to the plot. I was hooked from the drama from the very first episode, and I loved the whole cast, even Skye sat and watched it with me, even if she did so halfway through, she was often shaking her head at me as I got excited about parts of the drama, for example when everyone finally sees that she's Luwei Weiwei.
I found Zheng Shuang perfect in her role as Wei Wei, she oozed confidence in her role as well as amazing chemistry with all of the cast, I loved watching her with all the cast as she showed that she was a lovable and friendly character. I loved her independence in all aspects of her life, whether it was in her social life, studies, gaming or relationships, I loved that she always fought for any truth to be revealed within rumours about her.
Yang Yang really was the Lord of the drama, even though Xiao Nai is often seen looking hard-faced, you know he is passionate about all aspects of his life, including his company and friendships, I love that even though Wei Wei is his first romance and girlfriend, you can tell he has confidence in anything she does, and knows that she is strong enough to deal with issues on her own, but is always there if she needs someone to lean on. You can also tell that no matter what he does, he always strives for perfection and for the best as he knows hard work will pay off within his company.
I loved the little side-story and side romance between Mao Xiaotong and Bai Yu's characters Zhao Erxi and Cao Guang, I think it added both comedy and sadness to the drama while, Wei Wei and Xiao Nai brought power and independence. I loved Zhao Erxi, she has to be my favourite female supporting character, you could see that she was close with Wei Wei and you could see that when they parted ways for a while that she was pained by how she was feeling about her best friend.
Next we have the trio Yu Banshan, Qiu Yonghou and Hao Mei aka Niu Junfeng, Cui Hang and Zheng Yecheng, I love that these are here mainly for the comedy aspect of the series, they really bounce off one another, you can tell that they have a really close friendship with one another, along with Nai they are each others strengths, and have the same drive and passion Nai does, making them a perfect group of friends.
Personally for me, my only disappointment was that we never saw any clarification when it came to Hao Mei and KO, my take on their relationship was that KO had feelings and was attracted to Hao Mei, which you do see jokes about how KO always jumps in to defend Hao Mei, I do think how Hao Mei feels towards KO changes towards the end of the drama but is the change him feeling more comfortable around him and feeling like he's one of the gang or is it more romantically, I think this is something that is left down to the viewers interpretation.
I think if Zheng He's character Zhen ShaoXiang had been part of Nai's gang, his outlook on life, friendship and romance would have been totally different, you can see from the start that looks play a big role to how he treats people and you can see he isn't always comfortable with how Yu Yao and her friends treat others whether it's in the game or in real life. I love that seeing how Wei Wei is makes him realise he needs to work harder not only in his working life but also his personal life, I'd love to see a second season just to see how he changed.
I can see why many people recommended Love O2O and I am doing the same, out of all the Chinese dramas I have watched, the ones that have really stood out to me is Love O2O and Well-Intended Love. If you love dramas that have comedy, romance and gaming then Love O2O is a drama I think you will love.
