It's time to take you back 10 years and to when SHINee made their debut with their 1st mini album Replay.
Before the groups debut, SM Entertainment announced an upcoming contemporary R&B boy group, with it's goal to be a trendsetter in all areas of music, fashion and dance. The groups name, SHINee is a new coined word and explained as a combination of shine meaning light, and the suffix ee, therefore meaning "one who receives the light."
On the 22nd of May 2008, the M/V for 누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay) was released along with the digital and physical release of their debut mini album Replay.

After it's release, the title track gained huge success especially with the older female demographic, because of the line 누난 너무 예뻐 (nunan neomu yeppeo - Noona(term used for older women by men), you’re so pretty). Their debut mini album debuted at No.10 on the Korean music chart MIAK, which compiled sales figures for music releases until 2008, and peaked at No.8, selling 17,957 copies in the first half of 2008.
SHINee's fashion style which was created by designer Ha Sang-Beg and features high-top sneakers, skinny jeans, and colourful sweaters gained a lot of attention. Their style created a fashion trend amongst students, which the media dubbed the "SHINee Trend".
Replay peaked at N0.17 on the Five-Music Albums Chart.

SHINee's M/V for 누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay) has so far gained 15,958,021 million views, with the views always continuing to increase.
Replay is set out in a square hardback book style case, containing the Cd and a photobook. The photobook follows a colourful and trendy fashion concept as well as introducing each member and containing a little information about each member.

One thing I always forget about this album and SHINee's debut is how young they all were, both Onew and Jonghyun were the oldest members at 18, both Key and Minho were 16 and Taemin was 14 years old, they made their debut 2 months before he turned 15. It's surprising how even 10 years in the industry, they still keep their feet on the ground and still keep the "SHINee Trend" going, they all still keep amazing not only myself but their fans around the world. For a debut album I think it hinted at the success and legacy that SHINee would bring and will continue to bring. I love each track on the album, each track is different from the last, but each track also blends well together. Vocally SHINee are one of my favourite groups and each of the songs on this album showcases their vocal talents very well. Personally for me this is one of my favourite debut releases from a group, even thought it's an album that was released 10 years ago, it's stood the test of time and still fits in today, it's like it was released long before it's time.

It was recently announced that Onew will be heading off to do his military service on December 10th, I feel a little uncomfortable for him that he's away from his members and family on the 18th of December, but I hope he's able to reach out to them, so they can help each other on a difficult day, I hope for his safe return and I will count down the days that I will be able to see SHINee together again. All I will leave you with now and possibly on future SHINee posts is Onew's words "as 4, all 5 of us will move forward together".
