I'm back with another BTS post but this time we're switching it up and I'm sharing with you their first Japanese greatest hits album to be released in Japan.
After the release of their 2nd Japanese album, on the 16th of January 2017, BTS released their first greatest hits album, which contained 14 tracks, mainly their title tracks that were released on their previous two Japanese albums as well as original Japanese tracks.
The Best of Bodan Shonendan Japan Edition peaked at No.6 on the Oricon Albums chart, while The Best of Bangtan Sonyeondan Korea Edition peaked at No.5 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
Japan Edition Sales:
36,634+
Korea Edition Sales:
62,840+
Total Sales:
99,474+
The album was released in 4 version: 1 normal edition and 1 limited edition for the Japan Edition and 1 normal and 1 limited edition for the Korea Edition. The album was released in both Korean and Japanese, with the track list for both releases differing slightly.
The normal editions are set out in a jewel Cd case and come with Cd and combined photo and lyric booklet, while the limited edition versions are set out in a box case with clear plastic slipcase and come with Cd, DVD, lyric booklet and 8 glossy double sided picture cards. Album covers are different for all the versions with the Japanese being white and the Korean being black, the photo's are also different for both the Korean and Japanese editions.
Track List:

Dope 超ヤベー!- - Japanese Ver.

Fire - Japanese Ver.
Save Me - Japanese Ver.
Epilogue: Young Forever - Japanese Ver.
When I saw this album, I had to buy it and I went for the Japan Edition as I didn't own any of their Japanese albums. I love the layout and packaging for this album and the pictures are breathtaking. I was a little off guard when I first listened to this album as I was only used to the Korean releases, so on first listen I wasn't a fan of some of the tracks as I thought they sounded out, normally for me whichever version I'm used to, tends to be the one I prefer. After a few listens the Japanese releases really grew on me.

Epilogue: Young Forever
What I love about BTS and their Japanese releases is that they have the songs translated so that their message doesn't change. This month I also bought their third Japanese album Face Yourself when I came across it in HMV in Sheffield when I went to buy Love Yourself: Answer.
What did you think when you first heard the Japanese versions?
Were you a fan on first listen or did you need time to get used to it?
Let me know in the comments below.
See you soon!
