I'm back with another BTS post and this week we're heading back to the start of their Love Yourself series and their 5th mini album, Love Yourself 承 Her is the first album to be released since revealing their new "brand identity", which is complete with a new, simplified logo and alternative English name, Beyond The Scene.
On the 4th of July 2017, a Logo Animation video was released.

On the 18th of September 2017, the M/V for DNA was released, along with the physical and digital release of their 5th mini album Love Yourself 承 Her, 4 hours before the albums release, BTS held a press conference as well as a special live broadcast on the V app after it's release.

During the period of August 25th - 31st, LOEN Entertainment, who was responsible for the distribution of the physical release, recorded a total of 1,051,546 million stock pre-orders. This made BTS the first K-pop group to reach more than 1 million pre-orders. According to the Monthly Gaon Albums Chart, released on October 14th 2017, Love Yourself 承 Her was the highest-selling release of September 2017, with 1,203,533 million copies sold since it's release on September 18th 2017. The album also has the 2nd highest monthly sales in the history of the Gaon Chart.
Love Yourself 承 Her eventually became BTS' highest selling album, overtaking their 2016 full length album Wings, as well as becoming the best selling album in the history of the Gaon Chart with over 1.6 million copies sold as of March 2018.
The album has remained on the Billboard 200 for 27 weeks, the only Korean album to do so.
24 hours after it's release, the DNA M/V had been viewed 21 million times, becoming the 1st K-pop group M/V to reach 20 million views in 24 hours.
Promotions began for DNA and Love Yourself 承 Her began on the 22nd of September 2017, on Music Bank, DNA won BTS a total of 10 music show trophies, with 1 win on The Show, 1 win on Show Champion, 2 wins on M Countdown, 3 wins on Music Bank and 3 wins on Inkigayo.
The album contains a total of 9 tracks on the digital release with the physical release containing 2 hidden tracks.
RM, J-Hope and Suga co-wrote on tracks Best Of Me, Pied Piper, 바다 (Sea) and Outro: Her, with Suga being credited as a producer on Outro: Her.
RM co-wrote Serendipity and 보조개 (Dimple).

Love Yourself 承 Her peaked at No.1 on the Gaon Albums Chart, No.1 on the Oricon Albums Chart, No.7 on the Billboard 200 Chart, No.2 on the Billboard Independant Albums Chart, No.1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart and No.14 on the UK Official Albums Chart. The album also peaked at No.1 on Gaon Albums Monthly chart for September, finally the album also peaked at No.1 on the Gaon Year-End Albums Chart as well as peaking at No.2 on the Billboard Year-End World Albums Chart.

The M/V for DNA has gained 441,627,498 million views and the M/V for MIC Drop has gained 297,703,582 million views, with the views increasing fast each day.
Love Yourself 承 Her was released in 4 versions, L, O, V & E and is set out in a white card slipcase, all 4 versions come with a photobook, mini note book, sticker sheet and a random photo card. All 4 versions have a different cover design that matches with the Cd design of the version, as well as having a different photobook in each version.

Love Yourself 承 Her is the first time I saw a Korean album hit No.1 on the UK iTunes albums chart, it also saw them rise even higher in the Official UK Albums Chart, with their Wings album entering the UK chart at No.62, Love Yourself 承 Her jumped into the Top 20 at No.14, making them still the only Korean act to do so. I have the O version, the photo book personally for me seems to show the members in an angelic light, showing that they still have a pureness to how they are seen, I wouldn't say it's my favourite photobook from the versions but they are stunning pictures. The album overall is amazing, I love that Jimin got to open up the album, he may not be my bias but he knows how to melt this noona's heart, I think with DNA especially with the M/V we got to see a cuter side to BTS. Each track is completely different form the last but the track that I always love to hear is: and the Billboard Music Award goes to BTS!!! Almost a year down the line and I still smile and tear up on hearing that, it just shows how far BTS have come since debut. I think overall Love Yourself 承 Her is a very musically aesthetically pleasing album, showing that BTS have no plan to stop on their way for world domination.

In case you didn't know that when you buy one of the albums from the Love Yourself series 3% of the physical sales will be donated to UNICEF, this is all for UNICEF's Love Myself campaign in aid to end violence against children and young people. As of June this year (2018) BTS had raised $1million for the campaign, surely there is no better role models than BTS for the future generations.
