We've come to the final part of VIXX's Conception Series are you read?
Time to recap the past 2 posts, VIXX announced that in 2016 that they would be doing a year-long project titled VIXX 2016 Conception Project, in which they would be showing off their wide musical and conceptual spectrum and it's theme would be based on Gods from Greek mythology, part 1 titled Zelos was released on the 19th of April and was based around the Greek God of jealousy and rivalry, Zelos. In part 2 we entered the underworld when it was released on the 12th of August and was based on the Greek God of the underworld, Hades.
The 3rd part of their year long project is their 3rd mini album and on the 9th of October VIXX revealed that the 3rd and final part would be based upon Kratos - the personification of strength, might, sovereign rule and authority in all it's forms.
On October 20th the Kratos concept film was released.

On the 24th of October Conception Character Trailers were released for both Ken and Hongbin.

On the 26th of October the final 2 Conception Character Trailers were released for both Hyuk and N.

On the 27th of October the M/V teaser was released for the lead single The Closer.

On the 30th of October (31st in S.Korea) the M/V for The Closer was released along with their 3rd mini album Kratos.
Like the previous 2 releases Ravi participated on all the tracks on the mini album, co-writing the lyrics for The Closer, Desperate and Shooting Star, Ravi also wrote and composed Good Night & Good Morning.
Leo also contributed with him composing track 로맨스는 끝났다 (Romance Is Over) as well as co-writing the lyrics with Ravi.
Sadly The Closer only won 1 music show award on The Show.
Kratos peaked at No.2 on the Gaon Albums Chart, No.48 on Japan's Oricon Weekly Albums Chart, No.5 on Taiwan's Five-Music Korea-Japan Albums Chart and at No.5 on Billboards World Albums Chart.

The Closer has 2,760,651 views through their official YouTube channel as well as 137,538 views through the CJENMMUSIC Official YouTube Channel, giving the M/V a total of 2,898,189 views which continue to grow each day.
Kratos follows the same paperback book style case as both Zelos and Hades, Kratos goes down the route of a military concept. The colour concept of the case is black and gold, while inside there is a mixture of dark and light colours shining on the members, again there are group and member shots and while Hades mainly focused on Ravi, N and Hongbin in the individual shots, Kratos focuses more on Ken, Leo and Hyuk in individual shots. Kratos also has a slipcase like both Zelos and Hades that shows off imagery of the case behind it.

I think this was a perfect end to their 2016 Conception Project, they came back with something new each time and none of it sounded the same, all the tracks on Kratos are also different as none of the tracks sound the same. Overall for concept Kratos is my favourite album from the series, I love them all in their military suits and blindfolds, I'm not too sure on the red outifits they wear and I wasn't really a fan of the hairstyle they gave Ravi, which is very rare that that happens as I always love how he has his hair, but the overall colours throughout the album are amazing it's like they are fighting with the good and evil within them showing them in a mixture of blues and golds. VIXX never fail to amaze me with what they do and the work they put in for each comeback, you can tell they are involved from start to finish, as a thank you to their fans they released a compilataion album which had all the tracks from Zelos, Hade and Kratos in order as well as a new track called Milky Way which was written by Ravi and Hyuk, The teaser for Milky Way was released the 17th of November, with the M/V being released the 20th (21st in S.Korea) showing them performing it for 600 fans from their fanclub at a Starlight event.

So that's it for VIXX's 2016 Conception Project, I hope you enjoyed it as much as myself and the other Starlight's did, I can't wait to see what VIXX will do when they return at the moment the members are supporting Ravi in his official solo debut "bomb n bomb feel this energy" I'm thinking of posting their other single albums as well as sharing with you their Japanese releases.
