It's time to introduce you to another group that I follow, today I'm sharing with you Gugudan and their debut mini album.
Gugudan are a 9-member South Korean girl group, formed by Jellyfish Entertainment.

On the 28th of June 2016, the Wonderland M/V was released along with the digital and physical release of their debut mini album Act.1 The Little Mermaid.

On the 19th of June 2016, Gugudan made their official debut and started their promotions on Show Champion, performing Good Boy and their title track Wonderland.
Act.1 The Little Mermaid peaked at No.2 on the Gaon Albums Chart and No.8 on the Five-Music Albums Chart, the album also peaked at No.8 on the Gaon Monthly Albums Chart for the month of June.

The Wonderland M/V has so far gained 835,197 thousand views through Gugudan's official YouTube channel and 7,727,569 million views through the official YouTube channel of Stone Music Entertainment, giving the M/V a total of 8,562,766 million views, with the views continuing to increase.
Act.1 The Little Mermaid is set out in a hardback book style case, with a majority of the photo book following their mermaid concept. The album comes with 2 random photocards.

As you may know my main favourite male group VIXX comes from Jellyfish Entertainment, so when I saw Jellyfish were going to debut their first girl group, I thought I would check them out. A bonus for me was that I'd never watched Produce 101 meaning I didn't know anything about Sejeong, Mina or Nayoung as participants and I didn't really follow IOI, so my introduction to those 3 was through Gugudan's debut. I loved seeing that their debut concept would be mermaids, one of my favourite Disney Classics is The Little Mermaid and I love that through their M/V and album photo book that they told their own story and their own version of The Little Mermaid. If you ask any trainee what their dream is, before saying they want to be a singer, dancer, actor etc they will say their dream is to debut, and to me this album shows their dream become reality. In the M/V it starts seemingly underwater but by the end they are bowing on stage and we live the theatre on dry land. I get the thing from their album photo book, a majority of the photo book shows the members in their outfits from the M/V, which could symbolise them all as 1 as trainees, whereas at the end of the photo book we see them outside all dressed differently, showing that they're dream is a reality and that they are now individuals as well as the 9 members of Gugudan. The album itself is such an amazing debut album from start to finish, even though their debut concept is a cute one, I was blown away by their vocals. For me the album gives of a dreamy feeling and has the perfect for any strong female fantasy movie. I would have to say though personally for me their strongest track is Maybe Tomorrow. I love that there is no track that needs a hard, fast or difficult choreography, meaning their main talents get to shine; their voices.

I've loved that every comeback from Gugudan has been a completely different concept, showing that they are just as versatile as VIXX and proving that girl groups don't have to stick to the same concept all the time and if they have the talent, they can do any concept they set their mind to.
