History of Kingdom: Part 5. Louis was released in 2 versions: Portrait and Eternity.
Both versions are set out in a hardback book style case and comes with the Cd, photo book, a random lenticular card and a random photo card.
The photo books for both versions are different as are the album covers, with the Portrait version being green and and Eternity version being brown.
Track List:
Intro: Requiem
Long Live the King
마침표 (Period)
Destiny
Waka Waka
Poison
Long Live the King (Inst.)
Portrait
Eternity
As you can see, I have both versions and I love the photo books for both versions, not only are the pictures stunning, but the colours used really make them pop too, they really are concept kings.
The album layout is the same as all their other past albums, which I think will continue throughout their History of Kingdom series.
The album itself is as expected amazing, with each track allowing the members to shine.
I don't know if it's what was intended but Intro: Requiem sounds pretty haunting when it first starts. For me this song in a way symbolizes Chiwoo's departure from the group as well as Hwon's arrival. There's something about the Intro's on each album, they're just all so aesthetic the to ear.
Intro: Requiem
I remember the M/V being released and being surprised at how fluent Louis sounded speaking English, to find out from their live performance that it was in fact Dann. GF totally cat fished me into thinking it was Louis.
I love everything about this track, it has that KINGDOM style and vibe that I couldn't imagine anyone but them performing this track. I also love that each title track including this one has that royal sound. The only thing I was gutted about was that we didn't get much Hwon, and I'm assuming it was because this song was created with the thought that Chiwoo would still be a member on it's release. While it may not be my favourite title track of theirs, it still has the impact you want from them.
Long Live the King
I love the melody for 마침표 (Period), I think it shows that each member has such a stunning vocal tone, they blend with the music beautifully as well as standing out. They're ballads never fail to stop me in my tracks.
마침표 (Period)
As bad as this sounds, as mush as I like Destiny, it's only the chorus that I find memorable. If I have to be completely honest I think melody sounds pretty weak for a KINGDOM track. I know not everyone will agree but I will admit it fits the album perfectly.
Destiny
I feel that Waka Waka is such a perfect summer track, and I love that even though we've had plenty of upbeat tracks from KINGDOM. There's just something about this one that makes is sound like a completely new sound from them. It kind of gives me ATTEZ vibes, it just sounds like a really fun song and you just know that it would be a song they would perform at their concerts, where they were album to focus on having fun rather than performing and interacting with their fans,
Waka Waka
Poison is definitely my favourite b-side from this album, I love the melody and their vocals. This is one of those songs that from start to finish that I'm sucked in as a KINGMAKER and just sing and dance along.
Poison
I love that this album shows us new sides of KINGDOM, and I think it's a more chilled out album from them compared to their past releases, it gives off more of a relaxed feeling.
As much as I was gutted that we didn't get much Hwon, as from the video they released of him shows that his voice and vocals were stunning. I'm glad that they didn't just throw him in at the deep end, I think if he had been given lots of parts straight away, I think he may have received a bit of hate for it, where it seemed more like they eased him in and not only allowed him to ease into debuting, but also allowed the fans to love him more.
I can't wait for their next album as we finally get to see Jahan take centre stage, I'm curious to see if Hwon will get an album, and I'm kind of sad to see their History of Kingdom album series come to an end, but I can't wait to see what they'll be bringing next and in the futute.
