Back in March I shared with you EXO's 3rd full length album Ex'Act, it's now time to share with you their repackaged album for Ex'Act titled Lotto, I know anyone that's reading this post will be thinking I'm a bit behind in the fact that they've just released their 4th full length album, I do have the album and I have scheduled it in for September, I tend to plan my K-pop posts in advance, hence why it's not for a while.
Lotto is the repackaged album for Ex'Act and continued on from their dark concept with Monster. On the 16th of August 2016 the M/V teaser for Lotto was released.
Owned by SM Entertainment
On the 17th/18th of August 2016 the M/V's were released for both the Korean version and the Chinese version of Lotto.

On the same day as the M/V's were released on the 18th of August 2016, their repackaged album Lotto was released both physically and digitally, Lotto contained all the tracks from Ex'Act and included 4 brand new tracks including new title track Lotto.
Promotions for Lotto began on August 19th 2016, but due to an injury sustained during their tour, it was announced that Kai would not be participating in the promotions so that he could recover, Lotto was also deemed "unfit for broadcast" by networks KBS, MBC and Mnet, so the tracks lyrics were modified and was promoted under the name Louder on those networks.
Chen wrote the lyrics for new track She's Dreaming.
Lotto won 7 music show trophies, with 2 wins on M Countdown, 2 wins on Music Bank, 2 wins on Inkigayo and 1 win on Show Champion, the Korean release of Lotto also won EXO the award for Artist of the Year (Album) - 3rd Quarter at the Gaon Chart Music Awards.
Lotto peaked at No.1 (Korean) and No.2 (Chinese) on the Gaon Albums Chart and at No.10 with both albums combined on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
Gaon Sales:
Korean - 236,416+
Chinese - 120,238+
Giving the album a total of 356,654+ copies sold so far.
The Korean M/V for Lotto so far has gained 72,903,068 million views with the Chinese M/V gaining just 3,973,508 million views, giving Lotto a total of 76,876,576 million views, with the views increasing each day.
Lotto was released in 2 versions a white version which is the Korean album and a black version which is the Chinese album, both albums are set out in a hard back book style case with the cover and Cd design for both versions being the same with each version corresponding to the colour of the version aka Cd white in the Korean version. The layout for both versions of the versions are the same with the booklet starting with the lyrics and then going into the pictures, both versions have pictures that are the same, different and that just differ slightly. The concept for both versions follow the Lotto M/V concept with the albums also going down a casino style of concept.

I have both versions of Lotto and if I'm completely honest while I do love the album one of the tracks I can listen to but don't tend to put on because I want to listen to it is Lotto. Lotto is not only my least favourite title track from EXO but my least favourite track overall from them, personally for me SM messed it up by auto tuning their vocals from start to finish. The rest of the album including the new tracks are really good and it continues to show just how versatile EXO really are being able to pull off and succeed in what concept they are given, I was happy seeing that Chen had participated on the albums track list as the track is such a beautiful song. Like with my Ex'Act post I'll be sharing the songs in both Chinese and Korean.

EXO have recently just had a comeback and released their 4th full length album and as I stated at the start of this post I will be sharing that album with you in September, along with the return of JJ Project and the return of Girls Generation with their 10th anniversary album. A lot of the male groups I listen to these days all participate in their own music and I wish SM Entertainment would let EXO have more creative control over what they do with their music like groups like B.A.P, Seventeen, VIXX, GOT7 and Monsta X, they've clearly shown that they can make great music, especially Lay and Chanyeol that always share what they have been working on through their social media pages.
Were you a fan of Lotto?
Do you think SM Entertainment should let EXO have more creative control?
Let me know in the comments below
See you soon!
