It's Monday which means it's time for a new K-pop post, this week I'm bringing back the boy group VIXX, VIXX is one of the few groups that I have a complete CD collection, I've already posted about Error and my favourite album Voodoo so feel free to check them out if you haven't already.
This week is their first mini album Hyde which was released back on 2013, on the 1st of May 2013 Jellyfish Entertainment released a teaser showing a dark concept from the group and revealing the title track to be titled Hyde.

On the 19th of May the full MV was released showing each of the guys with a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde persona, with the switching between the 2.

20th of May saw the release of the mini album Hyde and 3 days later on the 23rd promotions for the track started with them wrapping up promotions on the 30th of June. The single Hyde peaked at no.35 on the Gaon Singles Chart.
Not even a month later Jellyfish Entertainment dropped a new teaser MV for a track titled
(G.R.8.U) teasing the track in reverse, the teaser showed that 대.다.나.다.너(G.R.8.U) was a more colourful video and track to Hyde.

On the 31st of July a repackaged album for Hyde was released and keeping with the Jekyll and Hyde concept was titled Jekyll. Promotions for 대.다.나.다.너(G.R.8.U) started the 1st of August and were wrapped up the 8th of September, 대.다.나.다.너(G.R.8.U) peaked at no.14 on the Gaon Singles Chart.
Jekyll contains the same tracks from the Hyde mini album but with 3 brand new tracks along with it.
As always with VIXX, Ravi helped pen a few of the songs on the mini albums, he wrote the lyrics for track 어둠 속을 밝허줘(Light Up the Darkness) and wrote his raps for Hyde, 그만 버티고(You're Mine), Chaos and 어떡하지(Say Love).
Both mini albums saw success in the album charts with Hyde peaking at no.3 in Korea, no.8 in Taiwan and no.7 in the USA, Jekyll peaked at no.3 in Korea and No. 5 in Taiwan. Hyde also won VIXX an award in 2013 winning them the Bonsang Award at the Seoul Music Awards. The combined sales for both Hyde and Jekyll in Korea was 172,646.
Both Hyde and Jekyll are set out differently with Hyde being in a rectangular book style case and Jekyll being in a normal CD case with a bonus booklet inside. Hyde keeps the dark concept where Jekyll stays with the bright and colourful concept. I'm going to show both track lists and share a few of he pictures from the mini albums with, I've learnt from past posts that sharing everything within the albums when they have a repackaged version makes the posts way too long and I wouldn't want any of you getting bored, I'm going to continue this for future repackaged posts.

I always love to see what VIXX will do next but I do always seem to love their dark concepts more especially Leo's look for Hyde he can rock the long hair look. I'm also like in my other K-pop posts going to share a few of my favourite tracks from the albums. *is known both as Light Me Up and Light Up the Darkness*

Lately both EXO and BTS have released new songs and albums which has made me listen to them a tad more but VIXX still hold the spot for my favourite male group, I'm eagerly waiting for their next comeback for this year as it's reported they will have 3 this for their project: VIXX 2016 CONCEPTION, which is themed around Greek mythology (VIXX and Greek mythology 2 of my favourite things).
