2pm: GO CRAZY!

So we've arrived at another K-pop Monday! and this week I'm going to introduce you to another group that I found last year, they are a 6 member male group called 2pm.

Here's a little background on the group, originally formed as an 11 member group called One Day, eventually One Day was split into two groups 2pm and 2am, I maybe wrong so please correct me if I am but 2am focus mainly on ballads where 2pm have more upbeat tracks to ballads. 2pm originally had 7 members but their Leader Jay Park left after posting on a social media account his dislike of Korea in his trainee days and as the media does the comments were taken out of context and severely misinterpreted , forcing him leave the group and return to America and continue his studies while the situation calmed down. Jay Park also apologised to his fellow members for not being a good leader and older brother for them, he has since gone on to release many solo tracks. 2pm are under the company JYP Entertainment, they have released 5 full length Korean albums, 4 full length Japanese albums and 1 Korean mini album. Today's post is about their 4th album that came out last year(2014) GO CRAZY.

I'd heard about and seen things from 2pm but hadn't really paid that much attention to them until like how I got into EXO (TaeYeon dating Baekhyun, recently split up), it was revealed that member Nichkhun was dating Girls Generation's Pink Princess Tiffany who had known each other for years and it is suggested that they may have been dating longer then it was lead to believe, sadly they have since ended their relationship due to "busy schedules" as both groups prepared for comebacks but have remained friends. One of the first songs I found was a track 2pm performed with Girls Generation for a commercial for a swimming park (I think) called Caribbean Bay my opinion changed on 2pm when viewing this MV, check it out below to see why (the MV features YoonA, YuRi & SeoHyun from Girls Generation and Nichkhun, Taecyeon and Chansung from 2pm).

Next was my real introduction to them with their then brand new single GO CRAZY written, composed and arranged by member Jun.K, first listen I was like what is this but the song grew on me and was my favourite track until their latest comeback with My House but that's for another post. GO CRAZY is very much a party song basically telling you to get up and go crazy the MV follows this theme and is just full of insane adventures. Check it out below to understand what I mean.

2pm consists of 6 members: Jun.K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Chansung, Wooyoung and Junho, a few of the members had input with some of the songs on this album with Jun.K, Taecyeon and Chansung inputting their creative ideas, the genre of the album is mixed with tracks containing Electronic, R&B and Hip Hop with also a feel of Jazz/Swing, so far this is the only 2pm I have in my collection but I am wanting to get more of their albums.

GO CRAZY is set out in a big(ish) hardback book style case with the theme from cover to cover pretty much being a party theme and the photo book pretty much shows them going crazy, partying and have a good time. The album also comes in a clear slipcase that has a 2pm 4th album style stamp along with the album name.

Album credits

Each and every song is different from the last and I can sit with this album on repeat as you can't deny they're are very talented individuals as well as a group and it gives me hope for their other albums and songs, I believe I have shared one of their Japanese tracks with you before on my Blue Exorcist Anime post as they did one of the ending themes, check out a few of my favourites from the album below:

I definitely want to complete the 2pm music catalogue including their Japanese releases but I think my next album of theirs will be their 5th Korean album with the track My House as I just can't get enough of that song and want to hear the album too.
