It's time to catch up with GFriend's latest comeback and a new concept.
The Awakening is GFriend's 4th mini album and 5th album release, on February 23rd Source Music announced that GFriend would be making a comeback on March 6th. On the 26th of February a comeback trailer was released titled Fingertip Comeback Trailer, showing the girls in a more mature and sexier concept.

On the 27th of February it was announced that their 4th mini album would be called The Awakening and the title track would be Fingertip, on the 1st of March the M/V teaser for Fingertip was released.

The next day on the 2nd of March the 4th Mini Album "The Awakening" Highlight Medley was released.

On the 6th of March the M/V for Fingertip was released along with the physical and digital release of their 4th mini album The Awakening.

A few days later on the 12th of March another choreography M/V was released titled Fingertip M/V Choreography B Version.

The global pre-orders for The Awakening exceeded 100,000 copies outselling their 1st full length album LOL by 40,000 copies in just pre-orders.
Fingertip won 2 Music Show trophies which were both won through The Show.
The Awakening peaked at No.1 on the Gaon Albums Chart, No.18 on the Oricon Albums Chart, No.2 on Five Music (Taiwan) and No.5 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, making it their best Billboard chart position so far.

The Fingertip M/V so far has gained 1,586,458 million views through their official YouTube Channel , The M/V has also gained 14,786,296 million views through 1theK's official YouTube channel, giving the Fingertip M/V a total of 16,372,764 million views so far.
The Awakening was released in 2 versions a Military Version and a Knight Version, both versions contain a booklet with pictures and lyrics as well as the Cd being in a normal jewel Cd Case with 7 cover cards 1 each of the members and 1 group image, both versions follow the same layout. The rest inside the albums are completely different with the concept pictures following the concept of which version they are in, both versions are also different colours with the Knight Version being a deep red/burgundy colour and the Military Version being blue, both version come with 2 random photo cards.

I have both versions of The Awakening, which I would think wouldn't be surprising as I love GFriend, I'm a proud Buddy. Both versions of the album have stunning pictures, I love the concept and styling for both version. I love that Source Music took GFriend away from the cute and school concept and gave them a more mature concept, I love Fingertip and what I loved even more about it was that it was a new style and concept for GFriend but it still contained that GFriend flair. Like their past released this mini album is no different in the fact that it's amazing from start to finish, with each track showcasing their vocals. The girls are apparently in the midst of preparations for their next comeback that's reported to be this month (July), so I'm excited what their next comeback will bring, I just hope that this time they're not up against any of my favourite groups as Fingertip was up against B.A.P's Wake Me Up and while I was gutted B.A.P lost against GFriend, I was happy that GFriend got wins. I was really happy too that finally with this comeback Umji finally started receiving positive comments, Umji and Yuju are my favourite members of GFriend.

I'm highly anticipating GFriend's comeback as they haven't disappointed me yet, I hope like many Buddy's you liked their more mature concept and sound and eagerly anticipate their comeback.
