The film takes place on a train to Busan, as a zombie apocalypse suddenly breaks out in the country and compromises the safety of the passengers.
Train To Busan premiered in the midnight screening section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival on the 13th of May, on the 7th of August 2016, the film set a record as the first Korean film of 2016 to break the audience record of over 10 million theatregoers. The film grossed $87.5 million worldwide, and became the highest grossing Korean film in Malaysia ($4.4 million), Hong Kong ($8.52 million) and Singapore ($3.1 million). American distributor Well Go USA released both DVD and Blu-ray versions of Train To Busan on January 17th 2017, FNC Add Culture released the Korean DVD and Blu-ray versions on February 22nd. In December 2016, Variety said that Gaumont would remake Train To Busan in English.
Sok-Woo, a father with not much time for his daughter, Soo-An, are boarding the KTX, a fast train that shall bring them from Seoul to Busan, But during the journey, the zombie apocalypse begins, and most of the earths population become flesh craving zombies. While the KTX is shooting towards Busan, the passengers fight for their families and lives against the zombies - and each other.

I love shows like The Walking Dead as well as other zombie films and seeing the trailer once for this film I wanted to check it out, I saw that it was getting a lot of praise and that made me want to see it even more. I went into this film expecting the usual zombie apocalypse scenario and thought the film would end with a work crazy father realising that his daughter is more important than his work, something his own mother tries to tell him, well that did happen just not in the way I thought it was going to happen. I went into Train To Busan expecting the usual Zombie horror and gore and came away emotionally drained, 4 moments in the film I was brought to tears, not something that's ever happened when watching anything zombie or horror related. On several occasions I found that at gripping scenes I was sat holding my breath waiting for the danger to to pass. Overall I thought Train To Busan was an amazing and incredible film, I felt I connected with all the characters and even found myself wanting the zombies to get one of the characters as he was so manipulative and was only looking out for himself. I highly recommend this film to any zombie fan whether you're a fan or subtitles or not it's a must watch movie, the acting, directing and script is all on point, I'm not surprised that Gong Yoo is a popular actor in South Korea, until watching Train To Busan, I didn't realise he was the lead actor in a drama I've been wanting to watch and have the series in my saved list to buy. If you don't grow to love certain characters then I'll be surprised and if you don't finish the film heartbroken and that you've been though an emotional roller coaster then you yourself must be among the zombie population :). I personally think this is the best zombie movie I've watched and is on par with The Walking Dead series, even though some scenes with the zombies gathering together is a bit laughable it's a must see.
I feel I can't go into too much detail about the film as I don't want to give away any spoilers but all I can say is watch it and make your own mind up about how much of an amazing film it is, why are you still here go and watch it!
