L-R Control Version & Freedom Version
This week's K-pop post is another return from VIXX and this week it's one of their latest releases. VIXX have had a comeback so far this year and they have just made their 2nd comeback for this year but I'm going to post about those once they've completed their 3rd comeback for this year and do it as a whole post.

Today's post is about VIXX's 2nd full length album Chained up released in 2015, late October 2015 Jellyfish Entertainment announced that VIXX would be having a comeback on November 10th and that it would be their 2nd full length album. As their comeback grew closer on November 1st Jellyfish announced that the title track was called Chained Up. Then 3 days later Jellyfish dropped a pre-teaser for the title track.

On November 5th Jellyfish released another teaser for the title track, showing more of the video and ending with a tease of the track.

Jellyfish dropped another teaser on November 7th, this time a highlight medley of their upcoming album.

Then after another 2 days on November 9th Jellyfish dropped the Chained Up music video, which shows all the members with collars showing that they were chained up by a woman, the track is basically about how they are a slave to their emotions and would do anything for the woman in question.

The album was released November 10th with VIXX holding a showcase at the AX Korea in Seoul's Gwangjin-gu. Upon it's release Chained up was ranked at no.1 on Mnet, Genie, Monkey3 and Naver Music. Promotions for the title track Chained Up started November 13th with it coming to an end with a goodbye stage on December 4th.

Like many tracks before Ravi participated on this album with him writing and composing the track Heaven, he also wrote his raps for 7 other tracks on the album: Chained Up, Maze, Stop It Girl, Hot Enough, Spider, (Out of Sorts) and Can't Say.
Chained Up won the group 3 music show awards as well as winning them the Comeback of The Year Award at the 2015 KMC Radio Awards. The awards didn't stop there this year(2016) VIXX won the Bonsang Award with Chained Up at the Seoul Music Awards and won Best Performance with Chained Up at the YinYueTai V Chart Awards.
Chained up also had chart success with it ranking at no.1 on the Gaon Weekly Albums Chart in Korea, no.1 in Taiwan and no.3 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
Sales in Korea: 114,566.

The album was released in 2 versions a control version and a freedom version, both versions have the same track list and are both in the same box case but both have different cover artwork and different photo books inside and different CD artwork. Both versions came with a photo card, a member slave contract and and an individual member shoot at the end of the photo booklet. I got both versions of the album mainly because I wanted to see whose Slave contracts I would get a long with whose photo cards I would get and which members individual shoots I would get. In the control version I got a Ravi photo card, Ken's individual shoot and Leo's slave contract, in the freedom version I got another Ravi photo card, Leo's individual shoot and Hongbin's slave contract, Hongbin's looks different to Leo's and it's all in Korean so I'm not 100% on what it is.

I think this album is an amazing album and it never surprises me with how amazing a VIXX release is, no matter the concept they follow it to the very end. I love this album but my favourite is still Voodoo, let me share with you some of the amazing tracks on the Chained Up album.

I hope I chose some songs that would make you want to check out the album or even VIXX further, I can't recommend this group enough they really are all round performers.
Keep an eye out for future posts on some new groups I've found like GOT7 and Seventeen as well as the next and long awaited instalment for GFriend.

See you soon!
